2023–24 Australian women's summer

International Coach
Heh I checked the scoreboard, saw WI were 1 down after 11 overs and assumed Matthews had failed.

Matthews: 310 runs in the series
Taylor: 70 runs
Rest of WI: 50 runs

Matthews has also snared 5 wickets.

Looking forward to the WBBL starting tonight. As always, the Sixers look ridiculously stacked on paper, but would love to see some solo wrecking-ball efforts by Matthews (Renegades) and Chamari (Thunder).

Interesting to see Gardner captaning the Sixers in the absence of Perry when Healy is just coming off leading Australia

That was a fun game to watch and a good finish (last ball was probably a wide, though...)

Good way to kick off the tournament.

Devine seems to play more of these knocks for franchises than she does for NZ these days.

Bizarre result in the WBBL given that the Stars batting order isn't exactly full of mugs

Grace Harris is ridiculous. The cleanest hitter I've seen in women's cricket, I reckon.

Chamari with a casual 52 and 3-20 in her first game for the Thunder. Can't understand why it took so long for someone to sign her.

Jade Allen played for the Sydney Sixers today.
Didn't bowl.
Batted No 11, faced 3 balls, 3no.
They used 6 bowlers as well.
Why is she in the team.?

I say this as a compliment

She hits the ball like a man

Will be interesting to see where women’s cricket goes

My money is on more power hitters as the game attracts better athletes while bowling will be dominated by spinners as 99.9% of ladies are simply not physically capable of bowling quickly at all so will get smashed

You don't think the difference in bowling speeds is made up for by a commensurate difference in reaction times?

Women spinners also tend to bowl a lot slower than mens as well btw
