A shame for sure, but think the CG has lost its relevance, and with expenses where they are, its probably dead.

Tbh, with Brisbane of all places having the Olympics in 2032, shows how low the appetite to host these sorts of events is now.

The Commonwealth Games is very flexible in that the only sports a host has to stage are athletics and swimming. As with the Rugby League World Cup I can envisage the next version being a slimmed down cut price version to keep the show on the road until the time after next.
