The t20 WC is at the same time aswell, so can't even arrange some kind of AUS VS AUS A 4 day game as an alternative. Maybe they could just grab the guys who are around and do like a PAINE XI VS KHAWAJA XI similiar to what the windies have done? Quality of cricket would probably be the same as what an Australia -t20 guys vs afganistan would look like anyway.

Ireland can lowkey be a good test with Australia if the wicket is swinging a bit. Not that they will win or anything, but it will be an excellent test to precede the Ashes for the Aussies.
