Er, unless CW is now a public school, can I have my first name por favor?

Other than that the above is all okay :p.

And the following corrections and\or additions can be applied, in addition to what Roberts posted above:

Nah, moved to Worcs, and is a wristspinner UIMM rather than fingerspinner. And a ****ing terrible one at that - concentrate on your batting son. Only last season did he really begin to deliver.
Saw Moeen score a fantastic century in a one day match at the Rose Bowl at the start of last season, looked such a class player that day but only performed sporadicaly after that. As you say though he did much better last year than ever before, hope he gets plenty of runs in division two next season.

I knew he was at Worcestershire: that happened aaages ago. Can't work out why I put Warwicks.

Definitely an offie, mind.

International Regular
*Marc Ellison - not exactly following in the footsteps of previous under 19 captain Ross Taylor, haven't heard of this guy at all
Todd Astle - progressing top order bat & legspinner, though both of his attributes are currently deemed unfit for the shorter forms
Dean Bartlett - haven't heard of him
Hamish Bennett - developing wicket taking quick, only lacking consistency for now
Andrew de Boorder - extremely promising wicketkeeper batsman, hit maiden FC hundred this season, has both Hopkins & Young in front of him at Auckland however
Jason Donnelly - from all accounts a very promising left-arm spinner, made FC debut this season. Impressed greatly playing for South Australia 2nd XI
+Nicholas Fitzgerald - went to school with him, astonishingly talented wicket-keeper batsman(averaged 90+ at school) but sadly haven't heard him breaking through yet not sure where he is atm
+Shaun Fitzgibbon - haven't heard of him
Roneel Hira - impressive left-arm spinner in the shorter forms, limited opportunities in longer form
Ronald Karaitiana - sporadic OD appearances, possibly played first-five for Wairarapa Bush last year?
Colin Munro - from all accounts a promising Auckland quick, though don't think he's played this season
Kieran Noema-Barnett - recently progressing all-rounder of typical NZ style, hard hitter and accurate medium-pacer.
This season looks to be his breakthrough one.

Cricketer Of The Year
Graeme White has moved to Notts over the winter. Will be interesting to see if he can do something, away from all the Kolpaks/Monty.

Mullaney signed a 2 year deal with Notts at the end of the season. We offered him a new deal but not surprisingly he went somewhere he thinks he's more likely to get a game. He definitely should have a decent shot at being a regular in their LO sides.

NB he averages 64.25 with the bat in FC at a strike rate of about 103

Simpson left a couple of years ago, did a year for MCC YC iirc and then got a deal with Middlesex.

Wasn't aware reference to someone by surname was public-school business - I thought it was just a case-by-case matter. If you'd prefer your first name than surname I'll happily comply though. Other George doesn't exactly frequent CC with sufficient regularity to confuse.

We pretty much referred to one another exclusively by surname at secondary school. Here, well, it seems pretty much wildly mixed between firstnames, surnames and nicknames.

Has been thus (said mixture) at every school and in fact pretty much every establishment I've ever been to TBH. I'm very surprised if there's one which is stereotypically associated with one.

Ah okay, no I've just never come across people using surnames unless there is confusion (is anyone over here actually referred to as James?). Don't mind it used for irony, as surnames often are on here, just prefer first name. No worries. Wasn't even aware of another George.

Ah yes, I remember now, because someone started a birthday thread and I quite selfishly thought they were a bit premature...

Was going to mention that TBF but thought it'd be, well, rubbing it in, a bit too much.

Top of my head...

Dean Elgar - Scoring heavily in SuperSport, will get a call up to the national side soon.
Craig Alexander - Quick bowler, now recovering from a serious injury but was on the fringes of the national side last year.
Pieter Daneel - ?
Richard das Neves - Heard the name, think he plays provincial cricket for Gauteng.
+Craig Kieswetter -

Grant Mokoena - Opener, broken into franchise cricket this season.
Wayne Parnelle - Dropped the le, will make test debut tomorrow.
Romano Ramoo - ? Good name.
Mafinki Serame - ?

Headline writers the world over praying he features in a test with the current England captain sometime soon.

Slight correction, Andrew is a top order batsman, not wicket keeper batsman. I think you are getting him confused with his brother Derek who plays for Otago, who is indeed a wicket keeper batsman.
