Vic Trumper would be gun, Clarrie Grimmet was noted as a very miserely bowler aswell as a wicket taker.

Roger Harper would be a good wild card type player big hitter, handy spinner, dynamite fielder.

Yes was a fine opener, also Barber from that period was a fine forcing batsman. Not sure about CB and his fielding?

George Bonner...................very inconsistent slogger who could hit the ball miles

Jack Gregory......................the Flintoff of his day; quick bowler, loved to slog
Charlie Turner.....................Pace bowling allrounder whose test batting record is very poor
Clarrie Grimmett.................crafty wrist-spinner who took lots of wickets and kept it tight
Fred Spofforth.....................the demon. cricket's first superstar bowler

all these guys played test cricket for Australia prior to Bradman and would be close to the best combination available in a best of over that period (* for a best test team-Clem Hill would open and replace Bonner, Jack Blackham would keep and replace one of the middle order bats)

Mikey Holding, perhaps? Obviously a good wicket taking option and could really smack the ball. Hit 36 sixes in his test career in which he only scored 910 runs in total.

Colin Bland worthy of consideration as well; by all accounts was the best cover point fielder before Jonty Rhodes and a far better batsman than him to boot.

& Eddie Paynter too. No better man for a crisis like we found ourselves in last night and was merciless when attacking spin, which would be key in 2020s.
