I did the old go out and umpire 10 overs as our umpire was on holiday and this left arm swing bowler was bowling the perfect spell with virtually everything pitching middle and straightening to a right hander and I gave 3 lbw's in 2 overs. My team mates were going nuts and I had to go pad up anyway but the guy who replaced me gave another in the next over and told everyone to back off the stick. I went to bat and this lad fell to pieces as I was left handed and he lost his line totally. Should have batted me higher then the prat wouldn't have got half the team out.

The only thing in their favour was that it wasn't one sided, they were terrible for both sides so no bias can be called out. Just rubbish umpiring.

My issue was being an opener but always getting out in the first ten overs so had to always umpire the back end of the innings

It's ****ing bullshit having to give your mates out. No other sport you have to commit friendly fire like that. We need more zoraxs honestly for the lower grades

But I was never defending the quality of the decision they made. The most I did was offer sympathy to Joel Wilson for having a shocker, and asked people to remember they are humans and it's a very different thing watching home on TV to being out there on the field.

What's the point of posts like this unless anyone is saying the umpires are bad people or something which no one is. They did a bad job today and should be criticized for it.

Also why don't you respond to all the posts about how crap Wade and Warner and Khawaja batted by saying "It's a different thing being out there"? You shouldn't because no one called them horrible people (well except Warner), just that they didn't do their undoubtedly difficult jobs well today.

Credit to England bowling strength to be able to lose their main bowler and still have 4 frontline bowlers to see out the innings.
