See you in the taste it thread after Siddle has bowled. He's already done better with the bat than 6 of those that came before him.

As for an out of form Ali being picked on a seamers wicket after 3 days of continuous rain. Well, if you agree with that I don't need to say any more, lol. You should take your rightful place next to Ed Smith, with James Taylor (possibly dancing) on your lap...
Dark patches are already forming on this pitch and we're already a bowler down. I can't see how Ali's inclusion is going to end up being a bad decision at all. Would rather have 3 seamers and a spinner rather than 4 seamers

This is basically the same innings as the one Smith played in the first ashes test last time in Australia. Difference is the middle order stayed with him a little more on that occasion

In one respect I get what you mean. But Ali is only being used to help rotate the other bowlers....something Denly or Root could have done just as well (probably even better - bearing in mind Root outbowled him during his last 2 bowling spells).

kohli would have nicked behind for 20 in these conditions, and would have burned up a review too
As commentators cried about how he got an unplayable one and how him wasting a review shows how driven he is.

So is that already points docked for not having 60 overs bowled by this point? Or is there leeway

It's calculated at the end of the Test (i think seperate overrates for each innings but not sure) and there are plenty of allowances built in for things like batsmen faffing about, injuries, lost ball, time burned using DRS, etc.

Nothing to worry about yet.
