Now that has happened way too many times this match.
Adelaide 2012 a pretty amazing example of that. 4 down late on the 4th day and survived. Oz so shattered that their entire pace attack had to be replaced for the next Test.Yeah I remember seeing the scorecards.
I think AB was more adaptable than a lot of aggressive batsmen. Had that big innings at Headingley 2008 where he left the swinging ball religiously.
No pressure on the bowler as we're not chasing this.I guess the logic is:
1. Puts more pressure back on the bowler rather than letting them bowl at you
2. If they shut down too much they'll struggle to build a proper innings
Agree they overuse it though.
By proper innings I meant that I think they'll get out before their Cowan's. Didn't really state it properly. No pressure on the bowler as we're not chasing this.
No need for a proper innings. Just survive 150 balls.
On pure ability he’s probably a top 5 batsman ever. I think his Adelaide 2012 innings is the longest ever test innings without a boundary. He could basically play any type of innings if he put his mind to it.Yeah I remember seeing the scorecards.

Moeen turns the ball plenty the problem is his pitch map is all over the shop. You have to feel for Roy. All of his practice against spin is Ali and so he can't be expected to think that a spinner will actually turn the ball.
Compared to other sports, cricket is very accepting of players making huge tactical errors as a way of keeping their neuroses under control.I guess the logic is:
1. Puts more pressure back on the bowler rather than letting them bowl at you
2. If they shut down too much they'll struggle to build a proper innings
Agree they overuse it though.
