Being serious, given how he has dropped off from where he was would he have been dropped if he already had 400 wickets?Lyon's action still looks lacking in snap.
Any serious alternative to him?

He'd still get a match for quite a few sides (yours for instance). There isn't really an alternative. But he's relied mostly on bounce and pace off the pitch through his career and hasn't learned to get batsmen out with flight and variation, and it shows now he's not spinning it as much.Being serious, given how he has dropped off from where he was would he have been dropped if he already had 400 wickets?

Swepson is probably next in line but I don't think he's had any red ball cricket in a while. I actually think if Green had shown more with the ball than he has so far then they'd have been more likely to risk a new spinner. But if the n00b gasses up on dayboo they'd be left bowling the three front line quicks into the ground.Being serious, given how he has dropped off from where he was would he have been dropped if he already had 400 wickets?

No chance, Leach is a good bowler. We bizarrely don't pick him and prefer lesser bowlers who can bat a bit. Although Bess may have been handy today. He'd still get a match for quite a few sides (yours for instance). There isn't really an alternative. I hope not. Let him get some domestic experience first.I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Tanveer Sangha got a call up to the squad for the subcontinent tours next year. Just the sort of thing that feels like it could happen, purely based on his bowling style and the already-building hype.
It is very Carberryesque so far. Similar scorecard too.FMD Hameed has worn a few this morning. Working hard.
Oh it's absolutely not what I'd do. It's just something that I have a feeling may happen.I hope not. Let him get some domestic experience first.
Oh yeah it's an absolute moral to happen. They'll cruel him by playing him too soon and then never trust him again when he develops into a much better bowler.I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Tanveer Sangha got a call up to the squad for the subcontinent tours next year. Just the sort of thing that feels like it could happen, purely based on his bowling style and the already-building hype. It's not like selectors have really paid attention to Shield form or experience when picking spinners in the last 15 years.
Looks heaps better against spin than he did in England last season. Must have been working on it a lot.I am enjoying the little battle developing between Pope and Lyon. Seems happy to use his feet which is good to watch.
Hopefully he plays a selfish knock.Oh yeah it's an absolute moral to happen. They'll cruel him by playing him too soon and then never trust him again when he develops into a much better bowler.
Standard Uas in SC treatment of a young spinner.
That he's actually played forward is good sign. Still looks inclined to go back though, like that last ball.Looks heaps better against spin than he did in England last season. Must have been working on it a lot.
Wasn't a bad plan was it? 2 fuller near Yorker length ones in the first three then a decent bouncer, maybe a bit too short.Oh FFS Green. Cut the bouncers out.
Someone seriously needs to show the bloke some Kyle Jamieson videos.
He seems the type who will work, he had a few faults early on and has worked on them unlike Bairstow who still has the same faults he had 10 years ago.Looks heaps better against spin than he did in England last season. Must have been working on it a lot.
Yeah he's at least trying to get to the pitch now. He has a plan even if he's fighting his instincts a bit. That he's actually played forward is good sign. Still looks inclined to go back though, like that last ball.
