Had a good World Cup albeit nothing standout (but looked good in each knock, got out in really ****** manner in each game), but yes - this series of scores in key games should count against his status as one of the best ODI batsmen of all time. Henry has been absolutely spot on today

He's done the one good thing he does well very well this tournament. Just bowl in the channel with a bit of zip and exploit the seam movement on offer. If I were to make sense of this move, I would say they sent Pant at 4 as usual because he's a lefty and can put the bowlers off their line, while Karthik has a lot of experience opening the batting at various levels, and is comfortably better at playing swing than MSD.

You'd also rather have MSD marshal the likes of Pandya and Jadeja towards the end of the chase than Karthik.

So I can see reasons for it. Not saying it's the right move, but there is some reasoning behind it.
