It feels like their detsiny... having to refuse that ODI series vs WI to ensure they'd even qualify for the tournament, getting predictably smashed early on and somehow they've played brilliantly and reached the final. Meanwhile India have just made the final business as usual... there's nothing going for us from a narrative standpoint. There is zero logic to this, but the team with the better stroyline will win, and it's Pakistan. God has booked them like the perfect underdogs.

Eh that was part of a long term story of India getting smashed in 03, humiliated in 2007, only to get redemption on home soil in 2011. Trust me I know what I'm talking about here.

If Ashwin is unfit, it might be a blessing in disguise but I am not sure if Umesh or Shami will help us any more than Ash with the ball. At least with this being at the Oval, you know there is one square boundary that will be a longer hit and maybe Ash can bowl from the end that makes it a leg side hit for the right handers.
