Australia's planning with its batting order has been all over the shop this innings; surely a Carey or NCN who has a licence to tee off would compliment Marsh better.

Almost as if they felt guilty about putting Khawaja any lower.
It's the sort of side that almost needs one of Finch and Warner to go out early. Otherwise you're in a situation where Australia can't kick on properly. As frustrating as it is though there wasn't enough time to bring Mitch Marsh in and I don't think there's another batting option in the squad.

Australia have basically decided their batting line-up by the handedness of the batsmen. One of these two needs to get in and go hard though with Carey, NCN and Starc still to come.

Australia's third and fourth openers don't seem particularly suited to coming in at this stage.
Khawaja is actually much more suited to coming in right now than coming in with 25 overs to go. He's far better at smacking some boundaries than, say, milking a bowler like Hafeez.

Still trying to work out how Hafeez got so many overs when being so expensive. The fact he was kept on after that really expensive one was interesting.
