oh it's been a good innings. "facile" isn't a criticism of his batting. It has been a perfectly fine innings.
It is Bell that is the problem here.
Actually West Indies vs England would be a cracking game atm...I don't believe England are the worst ODI team right now. They are excellent actually from their die standards of the 90s, when you think of it. New Zealand are at a different level in their home world cup and being shot down for a handful is inexcusable but I would still put them ahead of West Indies and Pakistan.
england are the sort of team which will be very good against anyone even slightly worse (or on-paper equal) to them and very, very bad against those teams which are better of them (because of their obvious structural weaknesses with bat and ball)I don't believe England are the worst ODI team right now. If he tons up then it'll be the 2nd most painful ton after Bleed_Blue's 116*deadset one of the most painful fifties i have seen in a long time
Yeah England are the 'old' NZ in that respect. I remember a time when no side would destroy the minnows quite like NZ did, but when a good side came along....england are the sort of team which will be very good against anyone even slightly worse (or on-paper equal) to them and very, very bad against those teams which are better of them (because of their obvious structural weaknesses with bat and ball)
except all those things are absolutely trueThis commentary is one reason no one likes English cricket. "Should be looking at 400"; "Ali should get 200"; "This bowling is dreadful". No respect for the opposition. You'd think after a couple of hammerings there'd be some humility, but no.
This has been a very English performance but an even more English stint in the commentary box. This commentary is one reason no one likes English cricket.
