Or Rahane's stop that lead to the runout, or the catch by Shami off Amla, or that stop by Dhawan just now, or the numerous dives, chases and throws that the Indian side has put in over the course of this innings....

I'll happily front up and say they're a terrible fielding side by modern standard mate. If you think executing one run out with a good throw over turns an entire season of rubbish on their part, then I'm thrilled for you.

How about Rahane's stopping the ball which actually gave them a chance for a run out?
Rahane's one of the few consistently good fielders in your lineup though, the rest have flashes of brilliance but nothing consistent. Impressive moments in the field today no doubt but more often that not India aren't very flash at all.

Slip catching is our only really big problem. And that isn't a factor in ODIs.

The Indian side is a better fielding side than the average Indian side but is still below average relative to the world.

Yeah but test match slip fielding is the only part where they have truly been among the worst in the sport. Have not been that bad in the other aspects of fielding.

Nah that's rubbish, there is no way you can say that Rahane, Kohli, Jadeja, Rohit and Raina as a unit are not consistently impressive fielders. Dhawan's good too.

You just have this impression because they drop tons of catches in the slips and looked sloppy in the Tests after being out there for 100 overs watching their bowlers get smacked.

Even the ordinary fielders like Yadav, Shami and Mohit run around hard and try hard to stop the ball. And Ashwin is a really good slipper.

They're definitely a better fielding side that West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lana, at the very least.
