12th Match - India v New Zealand

Williamson has done well so far. I think he will be able to accelerate near the end and get over the line. The RR hasn’t really soared much above 6 and NZ keep pulling it back.

That tilts things in favour of India. Phillips and Macewell will have to play against type a bit to support KW, neither really prefers facing spin at length.

At least Latham didn't waste a review, that was plumb.

Williamson probably needs to bat through the innings now or close to it for NZ to win.

Probably didn't need to play that shot, Latham. His mini golden run comes to an end
Yeah he was shaping as extremely key to NZ’s chances given his ability to maneuver the ball against spin. Give it away there I thought.

The fact that KW’s having to take all the risks here (backing away vs Jadeja, advancing to Varun) isn’t ideal either.

Why are NZ not playing a shot in anger, the bowling isn't going to let up and there's no Bumrah, best chance to get at India is now

Whatever it takes!!!
He has particularly struggled against Varun but that was to be expected as it always is the case with a mystery spinner to a new AND a non-regular keeper. But him dropping the catch off Jaddu was unforgivable.

Williamson has to bat through, can’t afford to get out. The others can’t really hit out against this quality of spin (without impunity). It’s pretty challenging batting out there, I don’t think the England approach would work at all.
