    Official NRL 2006 Thread

What about attendances? AFL averaging almost 3 times more than NRL every week speaks for itself.

God no. The only way Gillespie will make it is if the selectors can't find anyone else at all. IMO he's finished and doesn't have anything to offer at International level anymore. Our bowling stocks are really terrible when players like Clark and Dorey are in with a shot.

Take a look at the Chappell/Hadlee series last year and see who is 'blatantly' worse.

Happy that Watson was picked, future star and was performing beautifully before his injury. Mitchell Johnson being picked is a joke. He has done next to nothing at first class level. Disappointed for Jaques as well.

I think an Aussie bullied and tormented Jason when he was younger judging by this grudge he holds.

Disgraceful effort by part of the crowd here. Really embarrassing.

And people say Australians are bias 8-) Gilly on fire, Australia looking very good.

The replay clearly shows it bounces just before his finger tips. If the ball hit his finger tips it wouldn't have bounced into the back of his hand as shown by the replay. I don't think Mahela is going to apologise for something he 'clearly caught' either.

Sri Lanka have steadied to 2/70 after 17 overs With the Gabba being one of the grounds where chasing is almost as good as batting first I'd expect Australia to chase down what ever Sri Lanka make quite comfortably.

Then what made Mahela change his mind? What made him realise he didn't catch it? IMO it is pretty clear on the replays he didn't catch it. The ball bounces before his finger tips and bounces into the back of his hand. If it hit his finger tips it would have stayed there and not bounced up as...

Nope. Obviously he saw on the replay how clear it was the he didn't catch it and decided to apologise to save embarrassment.

    ***Official*** VB Series 2006

Nah, an Australian wouldn't have claimed a catch they knew bounced :)

    ***Official*** VB Series 2006

If he didn't know if it had bounced or not he shouldn't have claimed he was certain he caught it.
