***Official***THE FINAL- India vs Australia - November 19th - Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad (D/N)

Well done Aussies, didn't think this team had it in them. Seems they peaked at the right time and stepped up. Enjoying listening to the idea that Aus were just lucky, or that India had an off day and so on. Classy. lol India played as well as they were allowed. Fact is that as raging...

Joe Root - England a better team than Australia man for man despite world cup woes “Man for man, I’d have this team every day over the Australians,” he said, with an air of confidence that has largely eluded England since they touched down in India." The holders of the "moral Ashes Trophy"and...

    England thread

So the poms serve up batting friendly conditions with dud balls to play tests like an odi with mixed success. At least, not utter failure. Sure, they had their share of luck but still, they drew with the Aussies at home this way (surely not losing could be considered a win?). Yet they get to...

    ***Official***Match #36 - Australia vs England - November 4th - Ahmedabad

Poms the team of the tournament IMO. Provided some great entertainment and long may it continue lol. Could be more entertainment on the way, can they match it with the Netherlands?

    ***Official***Match #35 - New Zealand vs Pakistan - November 4th - Bengaluru

The kiwis should make it but at least this has put some interest in the remaining games of these two. Anything could happen with Pakistan, they're about as likely to annihilate the poms and just make the four as they are to fall in a heap and lose to them. A mercurial lot. At your service...lol.

    Boxing thread

This highlights what I have always thought, that Fury is way overrated as a boxer. I don't get the claim that he has ever had these "great boxing skills". He has a weak punch and ordinary technique (but at his size it doesn't matter so much). He can move well and has good stamina for his size...

England will win the World Cup

The poms have been the entertainers of the tournament for mine, they play such an pleasing style of cricket. Just when I think they couldn't get any more entertaining, they go and surprise.

    Australian Squad

Thanks Glen, now we'll have one of Stoinis or Green in the side. So at least we can bank a <10 runs runs off 20 deliveries type of innings down the order, which is not to be sneezed at.

    ***Official***Match #32 - New Zealand vs South Africa - November 1st - Pune (D/N)

Looks like I was wrong to doubt the insightful kiwi punditry claiming that the loss choke against the Aussies would actually be good for their confidence. Lol.

This sums up the NZ mindset when playing Australia should there be anything riding on the result. 'Twas ever thus.

    ***Official***Match #27- Australia vs New Zealand - October 28th-Dharamsala (D)

Lol. Psychological advantage by losing? lol I doubt the Aussies are anywhere near as good as the other three teams in the top four, as our results against the Saffers and the Indians would indicate. Yet we still managed to beat one of them (guess who?). We seem to have a habit of not losing...

    ***Official***Match #27- Australia vs New Zealand - October 28th-Dharamsala (D)

Not sure why this would give the kiwis any confidence. I doubt losing does much for confidence building in general, but especially losing close ones. Always the bridesmaid, as the saying goes. This Aus team has a terribly out of form middle order carried by the openers, the tail also folded...

Enjoyable that. Gave the kiwis a real sniff there, so close they could almost taste it, gave them hope and dared them to dream. Of course only to have thier hopes dashed and their dreams crushed...once again. lol

Each team's MVP – predictions and discussion

Surely a split decision between Stoinis and Green for the Aussies.

    ***Official***Match #21- India vs New Zealand- October 22nd-Dharamsala (D/N)

Will be interesting. If the kiwis were to lose this they have a potentially tough run. Every chance that the usual little brother syndrome could rare its head against a weakish and out of form Aussies. Then a couple of matches against mercurial teams that could beat anyone on their day.

Disparity Between BAt and Ball in This World Cup

I preferred odi's back in the day when 250 was a good score and 300 almost unheard of. Now it's just a longer version of t20. Haven't really paid too much attention to wc's for ages for this reason. I'm a dinosaur though.

I would like to commend the poms for playing a style of cricket that I find very entertaining. :)

Quite pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this match has been. A credit to both teams for making it so entertaining (if for somewhat different reasons).

    ***Official***Match #14- Australia vs Sri Lanka- October 16th-Lucknow- #BottomDwellers

I don't think it matters much who we play. It's 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other. On our day we'll still jag a good one here or there but won't really be a threat to the trophy. Wouldn't be at all surprised of we lose this.
