You’re always a better player when you’re out of the team. 😉 But really, I’m just clutching at straws…..

Never talk up the players you think are obvious match winners. Not a good game for Buttler today. Predictions for his brilliant future to be re-assessed. Well done Oval Invincibles. 😁

*Official* Fifth Test (The Oval, London) 27-31 July

England test cricket is not boring, and it’s not a dying format. Nor is it that impossible format, a drying one. Too much rain for one thing..

Luckily I’ve left Cheshire and on London-bound train. However, no cricket for me as ultimate destination is Walton-on-the-Naze, visiting relatives. Hopefully they’ll have the cricket on.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

I live about a half-hour drive from O.T. Have just been out to the shops. The rain is coming down in diluvian proportions. It’s most unlikely that there’ll be any cricket today and the “start delayed” information is entirely superfluous.

Sorry to disagree. Here in sort of South Manchester (near Stockport) the roads and pavements are sodden, the skies are dark. But -as you say, it’s barely raining at the moment. What are the odds on getting any play at OT?

Haven’t been on here much today. On another site talking about Bell’s hair colour. (“Is he ginger?”). Jury out. Have been watching all the cricket though.

Strange from someone with a Cambridge degree…. Was it meant to have a different meaning?

Sorry, missed the bit where he was asked to return. My post was based on something I read that gave the impression he was picking and choosing. Apologies!

I just wish he’d make his mind up once and for all if he actually wants to play for England. Are we supposed to be grateful after he’s been out of the team for a while, that he wants to come back?

I agree. But we can’t help checking these forecasts anyway!
