    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Get Robinson to open with Duckett :) Robinson, Duckett, Bethell, Root, Brook, Pope, Stokes Atkinson, Carse, ... ... Now we're talking. Also, I feel Bethell could be crafted as the #3 and spinner (on not so turning pitches). #10 could be Wood, Archer, Potts...#11 could be Sam Cook :))) or...

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I'd love to see Bethell bowl more overs in this 3rd match. Craft him as the #3 & spinner :)

Odds on Robinson for Crawley ? :) Not happening unfortunately... Though I continue to feel he's the weak link in this England team

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

You are pretty harsh on Southee, who announces this series being his farewell series... I mean, he has played over 100 tests, and is saying goodbye isn't he ?

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I do think Bethell is a special player. It turned out it didn't work for Buttler in Test matches, but I guess they are comparable in terms of talent. For the 2nd match, England will have a number 3 averaging 60, a number 4 average 50, and a number 5 averaging 60. Pretty solid :) Why wouldn't...

You all watch out for Bethell folks

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Well... I understand all those doubts about Bethell at 3, but at least, it'll be more exciting to see how he performs. And is it really "madness" as I read above ? I'm happy to see something else than Pope at 3. And the idea of Stokes at 3 is not a bad one, but not one for the future... Bethell...

*Official* England in the West Indies 2024

Hi everybody! I was wondering why didn't Buttler open ? He wanted to give Jacks the chance? I feel Salt & Buttler is a very threatening opening combination. Jacks at 3 would be ok, no ?

    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

I know it's not happening right now but I'd like to see Bethell instead of Pope. It's a lot to ask for a young player, but could he be England's number 3 AND "main" spinner on not-so-spin-friendly pitches. That would make selection easier sometimes. Instead of picking a specialist spinner...

*Official* England in the West Indies 2024

With Buttler back in the side, England's batting looks better. I know they won't put Curran at 3, but I wish they would :) I think that's where he'd be the best (3 or 4). The ODI series proved he's more than able up the order. 1. Buttler 2. Salt 3. Curran 4. Jacks 5. Livingstone 6. Bethell 7...

*Official* England in the West Indies 2024

It looks like England are using ODIs as a way of testing players... Their bowling line up look solid (Topley, Archer, Rashid, Curran), but their batting line up looks veerrrrry fragile and unexperienced. - Feels like Salt is an explosive T20 player not an ODI player. - I like Jacks and I hope...

England players and selection discussion thread

I think England should try and craft a spin-allrounder, for the balance of the side. Swann was pretty good with the bat, then Mo Ali was even better, meaning they could always have a spinner in the XI and it wasn't about choosing between Bashir/Leach (who can't bat) or a seam option. I think...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

I suggested earlier on Crawley & Pope were starting to have had too many chances. Someone said "we" can afford that since we have other good batters. I didn't really know what to make of this, and still don't. You can't count forever on 2 or 3 players... We won't be able to compete against teams...

    *OFFICIAL* England in Pakistan 2024

Pope doesn't seem to reaaaally fire for England does he ? I mean, he has those big score sometimes, but he average 34.5 after 51 matches. I also don't really know what to think of Crawley who is going to play his 50th match and averages 32.3 with 4 centuries. At least Pope's FC average is around...

*Official* Australia limited overs tour of Scotland and England 2024

Difficult to pick England's XI for ODIs... They have a strange team. Not a lot of experience... Some of them don't seem to be the best pick for this format... Not sure about Salt, Jacks and Cox for example... (Cox has played 4 List A innings with a high score of 46). Who will be at number 3 ? On...

*Official* Australia limited overs tour of Scotland and England 2024

"... while Jamie Overton, who was called up as Jos Buttler's replacement..." (from Cricinfo) ??? Jos Buttler is one of England's best short format batsman (if not the). Funny replacement. England are actually playing a Surrey-like XI (with way more bowlers than batters) : 1 Phil Salt (capt &...
