    Top 10 of every Sport

Not sure I'd have Flair if WWE only. If opening up to non-WWE the whole list gets much harder. Other 9 names are solid. Might go Lesnar or Punk in Flair's spot Edit: just remembered Rey. I'd pick Rey.

    Holding vs Gibbs

If you're picking a fixed side to play across all conditions I'd take the spinner so long as they are good (which Gibbs was) even if the 4th pacer is better (which Holding was). As others have said, I'd rather have Sobers playing the 4th pacer role than lead spinner.

    Joe Root V Allan Border

Very happy to drop the "manly" terminology entirely tbh, the "manly draw" comment was supposed to convey my distain for it. The 80s WIndies side had a lot of draws, yes, but their batsmen didn't succeed so disproportionately well in the draws compared with on result pitches. Viv, Lloyd...

    Joe Root V Allan Border

To give a (probably unnecessarily) earnest answer: mostly just Ashes rivalry. The Aussie captains I've always seen as emblematic of their side and therefore they're particularly fun to poke at a bit. I don't really remember Border playing, other than my Dad saying how great he was, but I...

    Joe Root V Allan Border

Border was a very manly cricketer. He was a master of the manliest result: the draw. He did really really well in dead, drawn games. His record in matches which didn't end in draws is very mid. Just scrapes into the top 100 by average (criteria 2000+ runs), behind such Test giants as former...

Joe Root easily. Won matches for his team.

Surely West Indies can't choke England can't comeback gloriously from here?

    Victor Trumper vs Wilfred Rhodes

Aside from it having been 2am here at the time you posted this, your ping legitimately didn't work for some reason, I didn't get an alert.

Is there a difference between a greater cricketer and a better cricketer?

Yes. For instance, the "best" cricketer ever is Chris Woakes. Whereas the "greatest" cricketer is also Chris Woakes, but for different reasons.

Root is still contributing at Test level though.

I'll confess I've already forgotten that whole series. (Other than the free to air game getting rained off.) Ah remember this one now. Came in with with us in trouble batting first and turned it into a winning score. Yeah great knock but this one a level above again.

Has he played an international innings in the league of this one before? This is a serious knock.

That feels like a match winning over from Liam. Hope he can see it through now.
