    RIP Richie Benaud

Richie Benaud was never one of the "It was better in my day" brigade. It is testament to the man that he loved the game in all its forms and rejoiced in the modern game, recognising that it has to evolve. Great cricketer, great man. Marvless!

Final - New Zealand v Australia (29th March)

New Zealand have had a good tournament but this may be where they trip up. Australia have a superior pace attack and India a superior batting line up and don't forget India have bowled all their opponents out. Sorry but the second semi victors will win

    What next for England??

I am English, but there are members of the team that "give it the big un" like they are all time legends of the game when they are not. Cases in point- Pietersen is/was great to watch but can throw his wicket away due to carelessness. Broad is an all or nothing performer, six wickets one day but...

Would love a NZ or SA world cup win

A Pakistan win would be a great fairytale. Unfancied, underrated, and under the radar

    33rd Match - England v Bangladesh (9th March)

Wish Jimmy A was as good as HE thinks he is. Total poser. Ian Bell is a good TEST player but he's no one day player.

    22nd Match - England v Sri Lanka

shockingly poor, England could rack up 400 and I would have no confidence in them defending even that total. it would seem that the players are the only ones who believe in THEIR ability but they never prove it. In one day and 20/20 cricket they are 20 years behind anyone else. I very much...

    Vale Phillip Hughes

Terrible news and a sad loss of a fine player. Condolences to his family, friends and team-mates. Hope the unfortunate bowler finds the strength to continue his career.

Who is/was the ultimate, most proficient and masterful medium-paced-dibbly-dobbler?

Malcolm Marshall. Dibbly dobbly.....................................but at warp factor!

    How good is Sanga?

Check through the records...How many "great" players hundreds actually were a contributory factor to victories? Its all very well scoring runs when your team mates are doing so. Scoring runs in difficult conditions is where it counts, sanga has done so, likewise Dravid, Lara, Border.

Who is/was the ultimate, most proficient and masterful medium-paced-dibbly-dobbler?

Sobers......How exactly would you categorize his bowling? Was there anything this man couldn't do??????

    Cook vs Warne

Yeah I agree about your comments regarding criticism but what have Statler and Waldorf said that is constructive-Nothing, just firing off cheap shots.

    Cook vs Warne

Memo to Warne and KP: Less of the childish, attention seeking, headline grabbing comments. Take a leaf out of Boycott's book- he may be perceived as a bit of a caricature but at least his criticism is constructive and more importantly never spiteful. Worst day of captaincy ever, Shane...

    Cook vs Warne

While I am not particularly happy with Cook's captaincy, the continued sniping of Warne and Pietersen is laughable. Now KP has dragged Andrew Strauss into the equation. Who's next Kev, Moores? Gallian? Bringing up old grudges smacks of petulance. Although Warne and KP were fine players in their...

    Best utility players??

Karachi 1989, a young man playing in his first test gets hit for 10 in his first over. A canny little bowler-ends up with 46 test wickets. Sachin?? something or other..........

    DRS: Worth Persevering With?

Line decisions thru DRS and umpires ONLY should be part of the laws but should not be under the purview of any player. This game after all is pretty much THE perfect sport and should not be messed with. I'm prejudiced and love this sport. As far as I'm concerned, if you don't like Cricket you...

    Cricketer of the generation award

You Misunderstand....I did not mean those players should get the award. I meant players who were in the same position as them, who played in poor teams. Like Andy Flower or Brian Lara.

    Cricketer of the generation award

How about giving it to someone who was able to excel although playing in a poor team, and if they did well against the best teams too? Hadlee and Kapil Dev for example.....

    Overseas players in County Championship

Ever noticed how great the West Indies were when all their players were in county cricket in the 80's? When fewer of their players went to England their team got worse. Same again for the Aussies (mostly their batsmen) in the past 20 years.
