Rank them : Donald, Imran and Akram

Just to be clear, the reason I haven't is that I rate Donald over Wasim, but I also have Wasim in my all time XI, so just left it. I literally said earlier in the thread, that Imran leads this group.

Rank them : Donald, Imran and Akram

You seem to think I take this way more seriously and personally than is warranted. Bitter? Over a cricketer or cricket conversation? Dude.....

Rank them : Donald, Imran and Akram

Border Ranatunga Taylor Chappell Worrell Benaud Clarke Dhoni Flemming McCullum Brearley Jardine And that doesn't include Lloyd was very arguably the most influential captain ever Waugh had the best winning percentage Richards never lost a test series Guys like Vaughn etc etc...

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

    It's an objectively bad list.

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

Yes he was, and in the strictest definition of the term, possibly still the best all rounder of the era. But his fall off wasn't like Viv's and Punter's where they still kept ATG numbers, he just starting digging. I think one can acknowledge his impact in the era, but still say he wasn't a...

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

You're missing the primary point. Most of these lists are ****, ranking players from different disciplines is a bad idea, and literally after the consensus first couple of names, it's a way too subjective and a crap shoot. And one can look at a list and tell if it makes sense of not...

Did Marshall and McGrath have it easier?

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Rank them : Donald, Imran and Akram

Lloyd build a dynasty and changed the course of world cricket. Richards was undefeated and no way was he a better captain than Border. He wasn't great tactically and definely want one of the 5 greatest test captains ever. I'm sure you can name 10 higher rated ones off the top of your head, I...

Rank them : Donald, Imran and Akram

So let's go with your argument. We rate him differently, so let's use the CW rankings from the last 2 polls where he came in at 8th each time. I'm not going to get into the break down of records in different countries because we starkly disagree. By his ATG standards he was at best average...

But Hadlee doesn't make my XI either. Sobers came right after Miller and played with Benaud. And if he played with Botham, Dev and Hadlee he still would have stood out. He would have been by far the best batsman and fielder and stood out even more with a bigger television audience Imran...

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

No. If an entire set if individuals rates someone in the exact same area, I assume they know something I don't. Plus, at the end of the day, the only list that matters is yours. Through I do feel more comfortable with having Pigeon ahead of him now, lol. There's a consensus top 2 , the...

    Ashwin vs Kumble

Or just don't rate pre WWI players with modern players.

    Ashwin vs Kumble

How can you apply modern cricket standards to an era where you played practically a decade and only played 27 tests. A large part of his legacy was first class cricket, which until the advent of the world cups, were the 2nd most important aspect of the game.

    Ashwin vs Kumble

For the gentleman who was the GOAT exiting WW2?
  15. kyear2

    Ashwin vs Kumble

I don't rate pre WW1 players. Was a different game. I really only start mid 20's, but really the 30's is when it fully looked like modern cricket and techniques.

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

The owns that Subz hand picked, for obvious reasons, even though he knows they are ridiculous. Viv and Imran are not the top top players of all time. The other had Dhoni 10th and Virat 12th. At the end of the day, all this has proven to me though, is that it's best just to rate guys in their...

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

I have him high because I rate him top 3. The guys who played against him or watched him don't. They have Lillee, McGrath, Warne, Murali, Trueman etc ahead of him and rate him accordingly. I also don't really factor in his batting into the ratings much, so if you have those guys rated higher...

    Ashwin vs Kumble

    And that's why it's idiotic.
  19. kyear2

    Richard Hadlee vs Ian Botham

And appropriately garbage. Think Dhoni and Virat are both in the top 10?

Public lists are just as horrible.
