    West Indies Thread

For all the debate surrounding Richard Kelly's inclusion or non-inclusion in the WC squad last year, we now see what has happened or more to the point , what has not happened. Kelly finds himself being excluded from the provisional 30 after being a very strong contender in the A team for four...

    South Africa & Quotas

Issues like his one IMO can and will do only one thing:- damage the sport of cricket.I think what's important is to select the best team possible according to the circumstances that exist at the time. NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR RATIO IS. let us move foward for the benefit of cricket.

    Batsmen - not batters!!!

I agree . Thats why I said we shouldn't be so strict. Sometimes I call them batsmen ,sometimes I call them batters.I have no problem one way or the other. I guess for some of us it comes down to which term rolls of the tongue better therefore making it easier to say. Personally I think this is...

    Batsmen - not batters!!!

This may sound frivolous , but if we are gonna be strict about terms and pronunciations whether borrowed or not ,then this should apply:- if in cricket the man in the middle with the bat should under no circumstances be called a batter but a batsman then the man with the ball might be called a...

    TBC - Tape ball cricket

I remember a few years ago playing on a tennis court with an asphalt base. We used to call this particular concept "Firms". We would use the same tennis ball, taped or not taped. There would be a lot of us guys trying to get a bat before it got too dark, so we did two things:- 1) Instesd of...

    Beach cricket

Being from Barbados and living in a sporting conscious village which is only 5 minutes walk from Silver Sands beach ,I have played a lot of it. Its fun, especially if the bowler delivers as the surf rolls up in front of the batsman. The ball really hustles through as it skates off the water.
