*Official* New Zealand in India 2010

If Sehwag/Yuvi/Raina can get through ten overs, Pathan wouldn't be needed and this could be the first XI Sachin Sehwag Gambhir Yuvraj Kohli Dhoni Raina Bhajji Zaheer Nehra Ashwin/Sree/Patel But that's too risky probably...

Yea, wondering if he could make the full strength side for the WC. Doubt either Yuvi or Raina would be dropped for him though.

NZ batting is test standard IMO so wickets against them should be noteworthy.

*Official* - Road to India in South Africa - 2010-11

It's still a good amount though. I think that'd be the critical difference when a player like Ambrose takes 7 for 1 in a spell while the rest (Bishop and Walsh - excellent bowlers but not quite as good as Ambrose) take the remaining wickets. Edit: Here's the match...

Agreed, but I think the gap would remain significant, considering how much better Steyn is than the rest of the pack.

I see your point but wouldn't a great bowler be more effective on a helpful pitch than a merely good bowler? The more helpful the pitch, the more likely Steyn would be more effective than say Morkel/Kallis right?

If so it would be due to Steyn. I think the rest of the attack for both sides would be equalized by lively tracks.

Best AT WI pacer to complement M.Marshall

Hard to go past Ambrose. In addition to just being awesome, the pair would have a crazy height difference, trouble for any batsmen. Didn't pick Garner cuz he was more of a 1st change IIRC.

    Pie Chuckers: 2010 edition

On the contrary, I think there is good reason for optimism in this next decade, at least for the quicks. Aus - Mitch, Siddle, Hilfenhaus, Bollinger, George Ind - Zaheer, Sree, Sharma Eng - Anderson, Broad, Finn, Tremlett, Shahzad WI - Taylor, Edwards, Roach SA - Steyn, Morkel, Parnell NZ -...

Rahul Dravid - What would you do? Is he still one of India's 6 best batsman?

He's done very well this series and should keep his place for quite a while, but it doesn't mean that criticism against him based on his form over the past couple of years wasn't justified.

Rahul Dravid - What would you do? Is he still one of India's 6 best batsman?

Can't believe how much Raina's batting has fallen away. Hard to see him getting runs in SA but it'll be interesting to see whether he will be persisted with.

*Official* Pakistan v South Africa in Dubai

I think some people are underestimating how hard it is to win in such a chase. Against one of the better attacks of today, you can't just expect a team to go up a gear without losing a lot of wickets. I think it was only Botha getting hammered, so if there was any danger, Smith could have relied...
