    IPL 2015 Thread

He just needs to get more body rotation into his action really. If it's not his variations that's causing him the trouble than it just seems like he's not getting enough energy through his action to get the nip and turns he wants, and is reliant of the elbow to create the pace and rotations...

It would actually be interesting to see him turn into a leg spinner.

So... like an imran tahir? From the few videos I've seen of him he does seem somewhat loopier and turns it more than tahir though.

Welcome to being an australian fan. :P FWIW from what I've seen he just looks like he's moving around too much, which is one of the signs of him being out of form. I'm actually starting to think that he's a better ODI player than a T20 player.

Who was Australia's greatest left-handed opener?

Sorry, but Steyn has a much longer history of being consistently awesome with ATG average and one of the best sr in history. Warner is not comparable to steyn at all. edit: oh whoops, you meant warner vs steyn in actual matches? Still don't think you can rate ATG to how you faced against one...

That just makes me think of Ashok Dinda. I miss watching Ashok Dinda's bowling action.

Shaun marsh and maxwell batting together, and Mitchell johnson bowling to faulkner, watson and smith. Nope, it's not the bbl, it's the ipl.

Oh yes, I agree with that. Gets really good drift with those revs too. I dunno though, it's not just the revs. An attacking spinner needs to really know how to work a batsman over. If all you need are revs lyon would have been been much better at running through sides in fourth innings long ago.

As much as I'm a fan of moeen and I think he adds a lot of value as a spinning all rounder, I'm really not sure if he's really that much better at running through sides on the fourth innings as tredwell. I saw his performances against India but that was such a bizarrely poor batting performance...

Ah alright, thanks for that. Always a shame to see fast bowlers move in and out due to injury.

The more pertinent question with the england team I feel is if they stick with Jordan or go with someone that doesn't keep spraying it down the legside.

If you have bowlers who can bat, and seeing that jordan is no mug with the bat and anderson seems like he can hold up an end pretty well, I don't really see much difference in 6, 7, or 8. To me it only matters if you have absolute bunnies for bowlers, which then depends on the batter's ability...
