***Official*** 3rd Test at the WACA

Jimmy Anderson is the least of our problems, he really is. What is England's (Test) bowling line-up in New Zealand?

I give it half an hour in the morning. The usual gutless response from England. Heads need to roll after this tour. Why is a one-day coach running England's Test strategy? That's working well isn't it?

My only point is that Test series in Australia are won through the consistent posting of 450+ 1st innings scores. Teams that fail to do so, don't win series Down Under. This should be noted amongst the stick being piled into England's bowlers at the moment. Gutsy 40? Pretty 30? Sure, no...

    *Officlal* Commentary Praise Thread

Glenn McGrath on TMS is actually impartial, and moreover seems like a fairly decent human being. One is never too old to be surprised.

I said throughout the summer that Broad was beginning to look like a bowler on the wane, only to hear after each Test about how he had been "unlucky", "didn't get the breaks", etc. I love the guy, 8-15 and all that, but is there anyone still willing to call him "unlucky"?

What you say is as true as the fact that series in Australia aren't won without 1st innings scores of 450+. The whole team is to blame - the bowlers and batsmen are both putting pressure on each other.

So Thatcher’s to blame for this tour all along, I KNEW it!

True that, but no matter how bladdered they got at night, they got up in the morning and performed for their country. If this England team were 2-0 up I’d be all for letting them let their hair down with a few beers. I think that generation understood they were representing their country when...

Not at all. Groundskeeper Willie will do.

England Lions & England Tour Game in Perth

It’s easy to argue that England have stopped producing the top bowlers, but I’m still left scratching my head that none of Finn, Tremlett, Onions and Bresnan didn’t go on to become first-change Test bowlers.

England need at the very least a performance this week or, to put it bluntly, they are going to start losing fans. I am all for mixing business with pleasure, an ethos expressed no more successfully than on the 1986/87 tour. But the difference then was that Gatting, Gower, Botham, Broad etc...
