What Needs to be in this game!! **SUGGESTIONS**

Agree. The AI in most arcade style cricket games really sucks. Cricket 2004 is virtually unplayable without the AI patches, and even with those the game is barely realistic. The player should feel like he is actually battling wits with the opposing captain regarding game tactics, bowling...

    Going back to ICC...

Hey guys Haven't posted here in a while. Is ICC still the main cricket management game you guys still play? I've been looking around for new games, found a couple but they still seem to be in development. I think "World Cricket Manager" was one, but the website doesn't seem to be up anymore. Are...

    "I Cricket" Match Simulator V1.1

Nice sim so far. Only one thing though, I found the simulation mode to run quite slow. This could pose problems later on if you plan to have the option of simulating many series/seasons. My old cricket sim project was in Java too, now I'm starting up again but in C# this time. After using JFrame...

    ICC2002 patch

Just thought I'd bring this post back up since I've received several emails about the download link being broken. It worked for me just now. :)

Same problem here. Also, if I change something and click "Update Player" it says <birthday> is not a date. Does anyone else get this error?

Question about making a freeware game

I seemed to have lost some of the code, but I do have the core match engine code. I've just send it. You are free to do what you wish with the code. Keep us posted on your progress.

    Cricket Sim 2004

If you are new to programming why don't you consider Visual Basic instead of Visual C++. That way you can concentrate on the game content/features instead of programming details/bugs. As others (eg. Neil) can attest, writing a cricket sim is quite challenging; adding the challenge of learning a...

Question about making a freeware game

I have started a cricket sim project in Java (haven't worked on it in a while). Java is a great for modular and object-oriented design. But my biggest problem with Java is the large amount of code that is necessary to get even a simple user interface up and running. I'm considering switching to...

    Cricket games

I was developing a sim/game back around April. Had no time the last 4 months of the summer, but I'm starting up development again. I had a very decent match engine going. I was getting realistic scores/averages but the game was mostly a sim (no interaction). Getting a realistic result is the...

    New Cricket Sim released

I can't acces the link, but I'm interested in the technology/tools you are using. My old cricket sim was in Java, haven't worked on it in a while but thinking of restarting maybe in VB.net or C++. VB seems to be the easiest to get a user interface up quickly, but how is it for object-oriented...

    test/4 day matches

Always bowl to the batsmen's weaknesses. And start off with the new ball bowling at close to full aggression, then gradually lower the aggression level as the batsmen starts to score runs. (but not lower than 3 unless they are batting really well). Also, try to bowl your fast bowlers in shorter...

    Australia Saved Game

Try installing the patch, if you already haven't. Sometimes the game freezes around then without it. http://forum.cricketweb.net/showthread.php?t=6964

raising england team up the charts icc2002

Bell, Peiterson, Wood are good batsmen I found, and crawley as a keeper/batsmen. Bowlers... I guess Hoggard and Sidebottom in the early years.

raising england team up the charts icc2002

You must give england time to develop. The fastest I could was about 6 years, but I'm sure some people could do it faster (I was also captaining a county side). After about 10-15 years, england gets really good and it's more fun captaining. :)

    Great Test Matches..

Robert James Kirtley Philip Anthony Cottey Jamie Oliver Troughton I think the ICC database uses the first name instead of the "common" name for most players.

    ICC for Playstation

The PC version has much better looking graphics, and the user interface is much more pleasant on the PC. It is really annoying (and slow) using that playstation joystick (for me anyways) to change match tactics and scroll through stats, etc. Also, I think you can't save midgame for the...

    Yorks Career, HELP NEEDED

I do use this strategy in one day cricket, but not in tests. I noticed that a non-keeper will allow more byes and drop catches a lot more in first-class/test matches. Also, if using a non-keeper to keep, always use a 'regular slip fielder', ie a player who the cpu usually puts in the slips...
