Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

    Shhhhh....it's a secret.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

What does he have against him? Only his detractors, dude. Fitness? Clark, Siddle & Watson have that as well. Form? See above. Being a 'team regular'? See above. The only reasonable factor is past performances, and the untested guys can **** up just as bad as Lee, in that case too.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

And many of the other guys returning share many (if not most) of those factors as well.

Windies you ****ing rock!!! I actually looked at the last couple of overs at the bank! Well...England can look at it this way: they get a head start on their Ashes prep.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

That's not the point he was making. The point is that the fact that a player has never performed on previous tours doesn't mean that he should be left out of future tours. Ponting is hopeless against spin yet he goes back to India 'cause he's great and there's a chance that he may perform. In...

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

 ahahahahahaha  What's the latest reason? That he's not a 'team regular'? Wtf? This just gets more ridiculous by the post! Well then...Lee should've never been back in the squad after his Feb '07 ankle injury, since being out of the side for the WC meant he was no longer a 'team...

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

    Best post yet....

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Agreed. Don't think Hilfenhaus has done enough to be chosen ahead of Lee/Clark.
  9. scorpiogal

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

If only the selectors shared your views.....seems their opinions of the the 'far better options' and your opinion are worlds apart.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

An another thing....Siddle's just returned from injury as well...I think I've posted this earlier but since we're on the topic of match-fitness....how do we know Siddle's match-fit? See...people can't use match-fitness for just those two when quite a few are returning from lay-offs....it'll...

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

And....I don't think the selectors will be of the same opinion. They will include one of them or might even spring a surprise and choose both.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Lawson's talking bollocks. It's beyond unfair to say that Lee hasn't been in form for the past 18 months going on 2 years. The rest of the world know better. We're in June. Just a year ago Lee was in fantastic form over here in the Windies. Lawson. What an idiot.

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Dude...match-fitness. That's what I'm talking about. Playing competitve cricket and putting your body through the rigours.
  14. scorpiogal

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

But he hasn't played any competitive cricket yet....
  15. scorpiogal

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Aaahh...but how do we know that Clark'll be match-fit in time for the Tests? As Lawson is suggesting that Lee isn't yet match-fit and he at least has 20/20 overs under his belt, little as that may be, it's still more than Clark.
  16. scorpiogal

Should Brett Lee be selected for the Ashes?

Absolutely agree. Questions need to be asked as well about Clark. That said, Lawson comes off as a guy whinging about squad choices a little too late.

Fake IPL Player - Very interesting blog

I understand his Indian brand of humour. I even understand the language as I'm of part Indian heritage. And I still don't find him amusing. I don't think referring to a country as Dickland is funny in the least bit.

    Clarke's captaincy

So was Damien Martyn, and look how he turned out. Point is, too early for such talk about Hughes. As with Martyn, you never know what direction a career's going to take.

I am a Trini first, actually, and always back the Trini boys before any other. We back our boys as much as the Jamaicans back theirs.
