Should the ICC drop the two bouncer law?

Should the ICC drop the two bouncer law?

...or intimidatory towards a bloke who can't defend himself against it. As game a bloke as he is, no-one would want to see twelve balls straight aimed at Chris Martin's throat. Although one couldn't honestly say the same about his namesake from Coldplay. "And it was all yellow..." THUD.

    *Official* England in South Africa

Saw him at the Rose Bowl last season and Mustard stood up to him for a while, but to be fair that was one of the slowest pitches you are ever likely to see, Harmison and Plunkett looked just as unlikely to get anything out it. Bowled very tighlty im that match but was impossible to really judge...

...test level tho. I've only ever seen him bowl once on Sky (limited overs not really his bag one suspects) and he got absolutely carted. His namesake, the (then) Worcestershire stumper Steven, was particularly brutal. Bowled around the 77-80mph mark and (far be it from me to demur from the...

    *Official* Sri Lanka in India

Jayawardene came off a knock of 275 and his namesake scored 154, and Dilshan bashed his way to a century in the last Test. This is not going to look pretty for the Indian bowlers when it is their turn to bowl. Of course the opposite can happen, but I'm not confident of the latter happening.

*Official* Airtel Twenty20 Champions League 2009

Say hello to the cider boys for me :D Woooooo. Go on my namesake! I play cricket with his sister-in-law so he's been around a fair bit this season, needless to say there have been a fair few laughs (he has a rather filthy sense of humour).

    Air New Zealand Cup 2009

Are the teams anything like their namesake? One rich with the lastest spandex buoyancy promoting jersey and the other playing in potato sacks with the black plague as a secret weapon?

    Pepler Sandri

Yep he bowls SLA and can bat at a similar level to his Northern namesake. I've only seen him bowl in a couple of televised games but he was pretty impressive. He's rated as a really good prospect at Sussex. No-one at Sussex is quite sure who will make it out of him, Beer and Rayner.

...actually hear William Wallace rotating rapidly in his grave. Ish. William of Orange brought a large army with him, but unlike his earlier namesake William The Bastard (so called because he was French) he didn't meet any resistance. Not the only one: Delon Armitage & brother Steffon have...

    Naff IPL Team Names

I'd disagree with the notion that the Tamil kings were not too famous. They cannot be blamed for a disinclination on the part of the other states to educate themselves on Tamil history. They have left arguably the richest cultural legacies of all the Indian dynasties. It baffles me that logic...

    Naff IPL Team Names

...own take on Kolkata Knightriders would be not so much promotion of a new TV show never shown in India (not to be confused with its classic namesake that has been shown here very often), as much as another influence. The team in BLACK uniforms are called the KNIGHTriders (never mind one letter...

    Cricket team draft

If you're thinking of the namesake of a brilliant 90's fielder, yes he was one of my picks to go alongwith Faulkner. I'm now looking for one more player to get my two picks in.

Worst batsman ever to score a Test match 100

...I've ever seen from a poor-quality specialist batsman though was indeed Devon Smith at Newlands in 2003/04. Truly diabolical and like my namesake I questioned why anyone could like cricket if someone could get away with playing like that and scoring a chanceless century. There's obviously...

Those who should have played more

...Sylvester Clarke) he still had a fair few bowlers to contend with, and his poor fielding may have counted against him. However, to have his namesake Kenneth and the likes of Anderson Cummins preferred must have grated. Dean Headley - an England bowler who suffered injuries, how unusual is...
