    Australian Domestic Off-Season Thread 2008

Do you know if any streams would be up? Guess not, cause they are run from the T.V. Damn. Another summer of checking results via cricket.com.au (for Shield - Cricinfo for Ranger). None of those Redbacks can these days, post Lehman.

    ***Official*** Australian Domestic Season 2008/09

Thanks for that mate. :D Looking forward to this season, will be one of the best yet. I don't think New South Wales will be able win, or even make the final, because the vast majority of our players will be away on tour or completing national duty's, including the captain, 3 fast bowlers, a...

India are happy Symonds is missing test series Virender Sehwag says India are relieved Andrew Symonds will not be involved in next month's Test series due to his explosive batting power. Symonds was not included in the squad after being sent home before the one-day series against Bangladesh...

    Australian Domestic Off-Season Thread 2008

Wow at New South Wales best possible squad. Every player there has played for Australia, except for Hughes (however I have no doubt he eventually will) and Thornley. However with 8 or 9 of them to possibly be away at a time, and unavailable, this will be a tough season for the Blues. Also...

    Pre season training

Had my trials, and need to wait until the Saturday paper to see if we made it. I was really happy with my batting, but my bowling was inconsistent, but everyones was. I would give myself a 8/10 chance of making the squad. Our first outing is against Armidale, this season they are traveling here...

    Pre season training

I am going to make this my season diary thread kind of thing. Today at 3pm I have rep trials, will be tough to make it. I signed up for under 13's club, but if I will be going up to 15's. Only about a 10% chance I will stay down tbh.

Yes it is, they always land short, you can never get it right. Well, I haven't.

I definitely hope not, that would be the Pakistan and Indian tour not done, because of bomb scares.

I agree. If our bowling fires, we will win, as long as our batting makes a sufficient amount of runs. With the Indian batting fragile at the moment, a bad start to the series for them will keep the trend going through the whole series. The key for us is getting 20 wickets. Who we use to support...

Kaif , Ganguly or Badrinath - India's no 6 batsman for the Australia series

Well, in a sense they do, because when you've got Hayden, Jaques, Ponting, Hussey, Clarke, Katich/Watson and Haddin, you have got quite the batting order. I would still argue that it is one of the best in the world, if not the best. They will need more than Harbhajan and Kumble to dismiss that...

    Symonds sent home

This is great news. He is sticking with Cricket, which is great, exactly what we need. However, the problem is when he will return to Cricket. I think he should start this season in the Sheffield Shield, to see what he can do. I think he shouldn't play against New Zealand when they come over...

I agree with your points about Casson. He is pretty much the best spinning option Australia have at the moment, McGain excluded. McGain was not needed, I would rather blood a new player, or give Hauritz or Casson experience and lose than play McGain just to win. In the long run, he does nothing...

Which series/tournament got you most pumped up?

2005 Ashes, my first Ashes series, and I can still remember sitting up watching Lee and Kasper resisting the English bowlers, to lose in the end, by a mere margin of 2 runs. I was heartbroken! 2006/07 Ashes, to get revenge, and get revenge we did, in great style! 2008 Australia to India -...

I am getting more pumped by the day! This series will be great! Well, to be fair, India are the best players of spin in the world. They have arguably the best player of spin, Sachin Tendulkar, in their side, and are all brought up facing spin, on dustbowl's of pitches. It's what you expect...

Pace is they key National selection panel chairman Andrew Hilditch believes Australia's pace attack could hold the key to beating India in the upcoming four-test series. Experienced campaigners Brett Lee and Stuart Clark will again lead the charge while Mitchell Johnson, Doug Bollinger and...

Kaif , Ganguly or Badrinath - India's no 6 batsman for the Australia series

Dohni at 6. Laxman at 3, Pathan at 7. Best way to go about things. Cause if the openers can survive the Lee and Clark attack, and set up the innings, they won't need an extra batsmen, they need more bowlers to dismiss the Aussies.

Funny you mention that. I am going to get a job at the end of this month if possible, for 2 reasons. Money and Austar/Foxtel. I want to watch some of this series, but if I don't get the job, I will just watch it on live streams on the net. Pumped for the series!

*Official* Season XIV Discussion and Results

Great work Colts. Disappointed to get a start with the bat and not continue it, but once again made up for it with my bowling. Well done to Spinks as well.
