    Deja Vu?

Yeah, bold prediction that goes horribly wrong. I pretty much have the same opinion as Liam said earlier. I can see the England bats fighting back, but the bowling, and taking 20 Australian wickets, is likely to be a real problem. Four tests to go though, you never know. I hope they fight...

No idea, I didn't think it was that conclusive. I was confused by the reactions, to be honest, I didn't even think it was that close. Dunno that I'd rely on the hotspot thingy, but to me, it showed nothing.

Yeah, but from what I remember Warne didn't really respond till Gilchrist got all excited. I could be wrong, though. Either way, I think the right call was made.

Haha, I suppose this is a bad time to mention that I previously argued they should keep him then... I can understand the disappointment and the fact that many English fans have lost faith in him, but I still believe he's the most likely bowler outside of Flintoff to take a bag of Aussie...

Haven't really been able to get online much this weekend - so a few thoughts about the last few days' play: * Good fighting innings from Pietersen - Simon O'Donnell's stupid sounding, badly delivered threat ended up having some validity, particularly looking at some of the interplay between KP...

No, though I followed it, so I'm aware of how well he did against Pakistan. But what I saw today only increased my doubts.

I still can't believe Bell is still out there. Like a few others, I was sure it was him gone when Collingwood edged it, and besides copping a lucky decision when he was plumb, he's looked distinctly ordinary. I remember feeling similarly about him during the last Ashes, and he did go on to...

So that's stumps, 3/53. Gilly's dismissal the only real negative today, apart from Ponting not quite getting the 200. The manner in which he went (and how quickly) would have to be playing on his mind.

    Clark finally gets the edge!

Yep, Bell lucky. He was gone. He's continually being beaten outside off stump here, too.

Clark is looking really good, and testing Bell (who still has plenty to prove, IMO), outside off stump. I really like Clark in this lineup, and don't buy the "too much like McGrath" argument. He's shown himself to be a wicket taker so far, and he keeps it very tight.

    Slowness and Adverts

I've experienced a fair bit of slowness and pages not loading, posts not going through etc this afternoon.

And Cook is gone, also - McGrath on a hattrick!

Fantastic catch taken by Hussey, and Strauss is gone - but Lee looks to be in a bit of trouble with some blood around. Almost had a Gillespie/Waugh incident, there. Personally, though, I think Hussey should have left it for Lee, as Lee was running in, and Hussey seemed more to be running with...

Impressive umpiring, IMO. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I thought Bucknor had really improved in recent times, and I really think he has. Cook looked almost gone, but it was high.

    Yousuf or Ponting?

Haha, bad call. I'd take Ponting. Though that walking across the stumps early in the innings would have me biting my nails.

I'd sledge the crap out of McGrath and Lee, and hit them for six after six. But that's just my way, I realise it's different for everybody.

If they intended him to play through the series (as I imagine they did), I don't see why you'd risk him aggravating an injury just before the Ashes opener. I don't think Harmison's problems are so much about fitness as they are psychological, anyway, really.

Looks like Ponting's about to declare as the total hits 600 - Lee might miss out on the 50.

I just realised there's still 28 overs to be bowled tonight, so definitely time for Lee to cash in on a fifty (and Australia to exceed 600) if McGrath can survive out there with him.
