Reckon with the amount of overs lost and rate of scoring. 350 will be a pretty good score.

    Steyn to get some runs.

Nice recovery. Good to see Prince back providing that anchor role when things fall apart.

I wonder how many South Africans are watching this now.

Your point was whether they don't fancy spin at all. I've provided an example where they can play it well (on a turning pitch) and win. They play spin just as well as any other international team. By your logic, India can't play spin either given their last tour of Sri Lanka.

Didn't read that "at times" part but then this debate is pointless because I'm sure I can point to various other scorecards where every team has struggled against spin bowling at one point and have done well in others. This just makes them like any other international team who struggles against...

They didn't seem that bad against the Indian spinners earlier this year, keeping in mind they won the first Indian test by a fair margin. Mishra and Singh's figures combining to be 2 for 304.

I still think this is an urban legend. Maybe for players like Duminy or Prince but Smith, Kallis, AB and Amla played spinners really well.

Looks like that new franchise is working wonders. That and their older players coming back. I'm happy for them.

Maybe on the batting side but I'm skeptical to say it will affect the bowling that much, in fact it may improve it. Parnell has been a question mark in the longer format while Lopsy has proven himself and he's been unlucky to not have been picked earlier. He's currently sitting a healthy FC...

Road to the 2011 ODI World Cup

12 months is a while away but I'll try... Smith Amla Kallis AB Duminy Miller Botha Parnell Steyn M. Morkel Tahir The tail is longish but Steyn is no monkey with the bat. Steyn and Parnell to open the bowling with Kallis and Morkel as first change. Tahir will have qualified by then and should...

Taylor's average is inflated because of this.

    How Good is Tamim?

Nafees hasn't really proven himself lately and new blood would be better. There's others like Shuvagoto Hom, Faisal Hossain and Nazimuddan. Could be a talent. Can't be harsh on his debut series. Absolutely. In fact it should be a no brainer. Shuvo should be a head of Razzak and bat 9. I...

I agree with this. Given that he can't bat to a situation, he should be the one at 8. and i agree with this.

I've given up trying to understand the selection, the shots they play and the batting lineup that they're trying. Obviously it's not working and yet they still persist with the same personnel (my god Ashraful is still there) and still Mahmudullah is still at 8. What a farce.

I think Lopsy has done well enough to get a go in tests and because it's his preferred format). Also, he's a left-armer which adds a bit more variety than if they went with Ntini again.

I doubt it. He didn't even make the ODI squad.
