This will be a draw. Flat pitch but the RR is too much for SL for me.

Pradeep's dismissal is one of the funniest things i've seen in a long time. On a more serious note, Ballance's ton looked like that of a seasoned test veteran. Only seen highlights but it looked a good, mature innings.

Ajmal optimistic of playing till 2015 World Cup

He's a spinner, as long as he can carry on dismissing batsmen he can go on longer. It's hardly like the impact a fast bowler puts on himself.

Usually i'd agree with wanting Kumar to get a ton, but England need a test win after the winter they've had.

Hopefully the rapids can keep their slot on the top of the north group tonight! Young squad becoming good!

Yeah I like this a lot! Would definitely like to see Willey in the T20 side, good batting average/SR and a fairly decent economy rate when bowling. Ian Bell shouldn't bat 3 in T20's, well he shouldn't even really be in the side.

Buttler will be to England's test team what Gilchrist was to Australia's. Mark my wards, screenshot this post if you have to. Unbelievable batting, but why he is in so late? Get him up the order where he doesn't have to come in and dig us out the dirt all the time! Well played to SL, Malinga and...

As an englishman, I was delighted to hear that Ishant is in the squad.

The Australian Domestic off season 2014.

I think the bonus points will help shield cricket even further. Gives more incentive for aggressive cricket as you have to get to he required milestones in a certain amount of overs.

Yeah it is a little colder than usual. It is still pretty wet/cold in late May though. Tend to brighten up for one week in June and then rains till the end of the year.

    Chris Jordan Fan Club/Apprection Thread

Looks a good prospect, genuine pace with the ball and gives it a biff down the order! Would like to see him given a game in tests!

Some serious average ODI batting from both Sri Lanka and England in this series. On another note, Chris Jordan's stock is rising massively during this series! Could be in with a shout for the test side at this rate!

What is your ALL TIME WORLD XI TEAM for tests?

    1. Hobbs 2. Gavaskar 3. Bradman 4. Ponting 5. Richards 6. Sobers 7. Gilchrist 8. Khan 9. Warne 10. Holding 11. Garner Quite hard to be honest, left some top names out e.g; Roberts, Marshall, Lara, Tendulkar, Healy etc...

Good season for medium pacers it seems, Joe Leach with 5 wickets for Worcs yesterday!

I agree with you that Root/Ballance won't replace Trott. He was definitely England's 'Mr. Dependable' and was a solid foundation to build an ODI innings around, regardless of what people thought of his strike rate.

Please feel for Surrey, they've lost a marquee overseas signing in Graeme Smith so have had to replace him with lowly Hashim Amla!!!!!! :-O How they are doing so badly in Division Two at the moment I don't know!

It looked like a massive coup for Surrey, but he's scored relatively little runs for them and has only played around 5 FC games for them in his two years he's been there! Edit: Yeah you're correct about the one year left, this is his second season of a 3-year deal.

Watched him quite a bit in championship cricket, and his bowling is nothing short of average. If you're picking him in the team and batting him at 8, it suggests to me you're picking him as a bowler who can bat. If you pick Woakes, it has to be as a batter who can bowl a bit. Could possibly bat...

Personally Woakes wouldn't be anywhere the test side. I don't think that last test at the Oval was a one-off, I personally think he'd get destroyed in test cricket. If you're going for that no.8 who is a bits and pieces cricketer i'd go for Bresnan.
