    I think it is a safer shot in England. Pitch is likely to have more even bounce/ pace and 99 times out of 100 the bowler is looking to bowl his stock ball on a length. That being said, I'd disagree with the sentiment of your post anyway. Maybe in that first summer against NZ we were happy to...

    Very sad for Ashwin and his family. Talk of a substitute is silly imo. We love test cricket because it's brutal, no different to all the times a team loses a player to injury or illness. Ftr I think the concussion rule is silly too. Anyway this game is by no means done even without Ashwin.
