ICC Emerging Nations Trophy (Sim League X)

I’ll take Zimbabwe if someone else wants the Dutch.

I’ll take Netherlands if they’re still up for grabs.

    The 'A' team

Some W's who opened fairly frequently (and successfully): Cyril Walters, David Warner, Cyril Washbrook, Shane Watson, Kepler Wessels, Bill Woodfull, John Wright. Or you could pick John Waite to keep wicket as he opened quite often; or pick Worrell as an opener (as he was a couple of times).

    The 'A' team

That is another question I was wondering about - which letter do people think gives the best team? B, G, H, L, M, S, W all look very strong; A, C, D, F, P, R, T are also pretty decent.

    Two Ambroses?

    The 'A' team

Yeah, he'd be a shoo-in for the A team if eligible. Incidentally, I have seen someone try to explain how Pakistani/Bangladeshi should really be sorted, and it certainly wasn't as simple as "go by first name" or "go by last name" - but most sites (e.g. Cricinfo) seem to use the simple approach.

If Rice is ineligible I'll pick Eddie Barlow instead.

Your countries first 3 xis of your era

They aren't "best of" teams from an era, they're actual Australian XIs who played in a Test at Brisbane (v India in 1947, v West Indies in 1960 and v England in 2002 - Lehmann is the missing player)

    Classic Draft

Clive Rice (assuming we can pick non Test cricketers).

    ICC Sim League IX

Most consistent batsman in the Group stage was Keith Fletcher, who reached double figures in all 9 innings (only Jeremy Coney did so 8 times). Bruce Edgar reached 20 in 7 innings (Coney, Desmond Haynes and Barry Richards did so 6 times). Conversely, Graham Yallop and Viv Richards were both...

    ICC Sim League IX

Having checked the figures, I think that (besides Mullets of Modernity (14 pts) and MCB Golden Boys (12)) Terrific Unnamed will be through on NRR, and then: - if Honest Hunks beat Creole Gang Silver Stars, they'll be the other team to qualify; - if not, the winners of the other match could get...

    The 'A' team

I expect this has been done before, but (as with the Fast Bowler Survival thread) people's answers can change with time: If you were picking a team of players whose names begin with A (using the "Cricinfo rules" where Pakistani, Bangladeshi and a few other players are listed by first name...
