Is Jimmy Adams the only player to ever complete this rare treble of achievements?

He was certainly very highly regarded in his time... I remember reading an old (pre 80s) article in which someone (EW Swanton?) reckoned the four best all-rounders of all time were Sobers, Miller, Gregory and Woolley (with a distinct gap between Sobers and the rest).

Is Jimmy Adams the only player to ever complete this rare treble of achievements?

Australia really didn't seem to believe in fixed batting orders in the 20s; in the 12 Tests where Gregory batted in both innings, he moved to a different spot in 10 of them - often quite radically different: his batting positions were: 6-9, 9, 7-8, 5-4, 5, 6, 7, 6-8, 8, 8, 2-4, 4, 5, 9-9, 9-9...

Is Jimmy Adams the only player to ever complete this rare treble of achievements?

Short answer to the thread title is "yes". George Brown is always worth a mention in threads about versatile cricketers: in first-class cricket, he scored 25,649 runs, took 626 wickets and made 78 stumpings. Alan Smith played most of his career as a keeper (including his 6 Tests), but took a...

    "Born before Tests" draft

To be honest, you can judge your picks using any method you like; they get judged by other people when we have the poll at the end of the draft, and it's entirely up to you whether you pick the XI you think is best, or the XI you think will get the most votes. It's generally assumed that you're...

    Reverse Alphabetic Draft

That's weird - I was looking at the possible R and P picks, and decided I should pick a pace bowler at this point so ruled out Graeme Pollock; decided I'd rather have Mike Procter than Peter Pollock... and it didn't even register with me that Shaun Pollock was an option...
