    What happend to Malinga, he has become Afridi of bowling. On the warner, as long as long he can play good knocks in important games, I don't have problem with him not scoring so many runs in not so important games.

    So basically, the ball swings because of different size/shape/weight of the ball on both sides. since the new ball is equal on both sides, we alter the size/shape/weight by using the seam????

    I am not sure myself. But my uncle says that one side of the new ball is slightly shorter than the other one. You wouldn't notice unless you look very closely. On the other hand, if both sides are equal, we should be able to swing it by using the seam. Since the balance and shine on the both...

    I was replying to those who say that bowlers from old eras were faster than bowlers we have today and they have so many stories, yet when we look at old footage, they are underwhelming.

    I am not a technological expert. But in those raw footage bowlers from old era do look slower than the bowlers we have today, except a few... If we have any expert, maybe he can explain better how the video footage have developed over the years and how we can compare...

    Well, we did have so many bowlers,maybe better bowlers than we have today, but there is no reliable evidence that can show that those bowlers were faster than bowlers we have today. the only evidence is footage, which is underwhelming.

    well his theory does seem to be correct to some extent. these days we have so many fast bowlers who can bowl around 150 kph. even if you go back 10 years, we only had few (akhtar, lee, tait,anyone else???) who could bowl at 150 kph.

    Agree with that. Most of those bowlers look medium pacers in footage but it could be due to the quality of footage.
