Choose the last player for Post Packer XI

You so wouldn't call for another poll if the spinner in the lead was Warne instead. :p

Can Robin Uthappa Make a Comeback

Don't be surprised if Uthappa returns in place of Rohit Sharma soon.

    ***Official India in New Zealand***

"India have bent over backwards to accommodate our wish for three Tests so we have to give them some warm-up," Vaughan was quoted as saying in the Dominion Post. "I said to them: `We won't leave you in the lurch, we will give you some decent warm-up,' and one way or the other we will honour...

Highly doubt any of Dravid, Laxman, Vijay, Balaji, Kulkarni or Mishra can't make these NZ domestic sides on merit.

That's better, although one could argue that it's an unfair proposition for Murali and just a devious way to ensure that he doesn't make the side. ;)

Let's revise that question: for those who voted for neither Murali, McGrath nor Ambrose, how would you vote if those three were the only options? It's only fair to include Ambrose as these votes could technically give him the lead. That said, it pretty much goes back to a split seamer vote...

    India's second-best all-rounder ever?

    Fair enough.

    Graeme Smith vs Virender Sehwag.

Perhaps it's because that poll was based on overall career performance whereas this one may be based on current form.

    India's second-best all-rounder ever?

Pathan should still be in this list on the basis of his ODI performances.

Did you want a two-test series? If not, stop whining. NZC weren't obligated to provide the Indian cricketers places in their domestic sides but they shouldn't be criticized for this decision.

Actually, I may change my vote from Murali to Ambrose if things get close.

    Graeme Smith vs Virender Sehwag.

Tough call. Sehwag just barely on batting, Smith adds leadership and slip catching but Sehwag also provides a quality bowling option. Sehwag but it's very, very close.

    ***Official India in New Zealand***

That's fine, but if you're going to degrade Sehwag, Yuvraj and Yusuf for bowling on spin-friendly pitches, you have to give the Indian pace attack even more credit for their performances on these pitches. Based on statistics, Zaheer > Mills, Praveen > O'Brien and Ishant/Munaf vs. Southee is...

    ***Official India in New Zealand***

Over the past 15 matches, Yuvraj has taken 12 wickets @ 29.33 in 71 overs, conceding 4.98 rpo. Sehwag has shown his bowling ability in test cricket and Yusuf Pathan has done the same in Twenty20 cricket. India's part-timers are clearly the weak point in the attack but the weakness is...

Who is the no.1 spinner of the Post Packer Era?

Will you have one massive poll to select the four bowlers or four successive polls? The former seems likes an intriguing concept but may lead to a somewhat one-dimensional attack (i.e., voters may prefer some variety knowing that they already have 3 right-arm pace bowlers in the attack).

Who has been the worst ever best batsman in the world?

Peter May is certainly an outside contender. Well, I just went through the ICC test batsmen ratings for January 1 of every year since World War I and emerged from the tedious (actually, it was a great cricket history lesson and I'm glad I went through the effort) process with some interesting...

    ***Official India in New Zealand***

Never mind, I was talking about test bowling attacks. In one-day cricket, it's definitely closer and New Zealand may be ahead, I'll have to take another look. That was a dead rubber and 3/4 of India's first-choice attack was missing. NZ certainly have a quality attack but India's attack, for...

South Africa, probably. Australia, definitely not now but maybe with Clark and Lee back. New Zealand, no way.

No. 6 for Post Packer XI

For the record, CW ranked Ponting #16 on the all-time list of batsmen just over two years ago. He'd probably crack the top 15 at this point but for those acting as if Ponting not making the top 10 or top 15 is blasphemous, this is for you.
