Ridiculous, where are the referrals? Good bowling from the Indian seamers though.

    Sreesanth: where is he?

Guess we'll find out soon enough - going by Cricinfo reports, Balaji may be slightly ahead of Munaf in the race for the third seamer's spot.

    Sreesanth: where is he?

He was merely decent in his first stint and now he's lost a yard of pace. That's all there is to it. If he bowls as well as he did for India pre-injury, that'll be a good start (though not good enough long-term).

Don't worry, doubt it'll happen. BCCI and Sony are embroiled in a feud these days.

    Sreesanth: where is he?

He certainly deserved the recall on the basis of his FC season, but people are more worried about his lack of pace and the chance that he'll be cannon fodder at this level. Gagandeep Singh was ridiculously prolific as a FC bowler, never got a call-up and everyone understood why after seeing him...

How are Zaheer and Ishant relevant to the selection of the third seamer? Who's been "discarded"? Not RP Singh, nor Sreesanth. Both were deservingly dropped and haven't done anything on the domestic circuit to warrant a recall yet. Both are still finding places in zonal sides even if their...

    Sreesanth: where is he?

Not surprised to see people that don't like him claiming that slap-gate has kept him out of the side ... well, he's been injured until very recently and hasn't regained form yet. On talent alone, he's India's third-best quick in test cricket and very much still in the picture.

Build-up to Indian Domestic Season 2008-09

Looking forward to watching him in action, hope it's not yet another let-down.

Kulkarni's done just as much as, if not more than, Balaji to earn this call-up.

Which Of These Bowlers Will Have The Best Career?

Not necessarily. Broad and Southee may have more potential but they're generally overrated, Kumar is underrated and the gap between them isn't that large.

Kulkarni may be the surprise of the tour if he gets a shot on a decent pitch, but I won't be surprised if Munaf performs well despite the criticism he's received lately.

He needs to add more pace or learn to swing or seam the ball - 85 mph with decent bounce and no movement is not a massive test prospect.

Praveen has blown hot and cold throughout the series but he's bowled far better than those stats indicate. Not really. Sehwag used to be ordinary and inconsistent as an ODI opener so he was correctly (not) rated, except for commentators that used to come out with the "but he's a matchwinner"...

Yuvraj looked like a poor captain in the IPL but sure, doesn't really matter.

Gambhir, Sehwag (c), Raina, Yuvraj, Rohit, Karthik (wk), Yusuf, Irfan, Praveen, Ojha, Munaf for the dead rubber.

For a change, Dhoni was very disappointing today. Forget the missed chances, why did Yusuf Pathan get only 5 overs after taking 1 for 14? He did an excellent job of restricting McCullum and Ryder in the middle overs.

Lots of bowlers do, and it's not as simple as "he just sucks, give up". Besides, Irfan's actually gotten some pace back lately.

The current Indian team? Is it really? Based on what? So...you're allegedly softening your stance now that it doesn't look quite as likely?

The Test match batting of Yuvraj Singh

Badrinath got a chance and blew it by batting like **** in warm-up matches. He better seize his next opportunity (soon IMO, as he's still at the top of the queue for reserve middle-order batsmen) because Pujara isn't far behind and you never know when the selectors might take a punt on Raina...

Unless Ishant is ready to go, would you prefer more of Munaf?
