    Kane Williamson

It was a glaring reminder of my Otago sporting loves, 15 years on. A former Otago rugby forward was the bar manager and Rupert was pulling pints. No glamorous post-sporting career for the amateurs of the 1990s.

    Kane Williamson

Tail end of that period. Plus, I used to see him when he served pints to me at my local a decade ago so I feel a little sympathetic towards him.

    Kane Williamson

I'm just thinking of a composite test XI of our worst around that time: Pocock Darrin Murray Rutherford Greatbatch (unfair but we didn't try many other batsmen). Chris Harris Vaughan Blain Mark Priest Davis/Su'a (take your pick) Owens de Groen

    Paine and Ashwin interactions

Nobody puts Richie in the corner*. * - except for a link player handing on the last pass.

    Paine and Ashwin interactions

Cool. You'll definitely be able to name a player whose head was stomped on by Richie McCaw, I'm sure, what with the sum total of your contributions to the Official Rugby Thread being "durrrr, Union boring, league awesum, durrr".
  6. Smudge

    Paine and Ashwin interactions

Yes, but he did it politely and with humility. Plus, he didn't feel the need to call his rivals "dickheads" and brag about the size of his Facebook friends list.

    Paine and Ashwin interactions

Which is why they continued to select seal killer Andrew Hore, drink driver Jerome Kaino, domestic assaulter Sitiveni Sivivatu....

    Paine and Ashwin interactions

The content wasn't great but the thing that pissed me off was Paine continuing the barbs as Ashwin had taken guard and was awaiting Lyon. That's out of line. Keep the chat going if you must between balls but he was carrying it on far too long into the set up for the next delivery.

    3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

    Please adopt me, Burgey.

    3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

I'm deadset striking at about 2% in finding a winner down the straight six.

    3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

But what's the First Chance Average number of balls for all of those partnerships?

Warney and Roy say mean things about Labuschagne off-air while Howie keeps schtum

Let's be fair. Warne, despite his brilliance with a cricket ball, is still just botoxed bogan trash in a cheese cutter.

God, Snell's leg cutters were dishy. Almost as dishy as his face and gorgeous hair.

    2020/21 New Zealand Domestic Season

I enjoyed the catch, but I enjoyed the addition of Real Life's "Send Me An Angel" by the ground DJ in response even more.

    3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

Must have been before FIGJAM was a popular acronym.

He was no Mark Douglas. Thankfully.

    3rd Test at the SCG, Sydney, 7 Jan - 11 Jan 2021

To be fair, that was probably factually accurate, with Paddles being a bloke and all. Only difference to your garden variety onanist is that he would have finished himself off switching his gaze between a full-length mirror and a VHS of his 9-52 at Brisbane.

Warney and Roy say mean things about Labuschagne off-air while Howie keeps schtum

Reminder that anyone working in broadcasting is given Rule #1 "treat all microphones as live" very early on in the piece.

If Gary Stead the coach hadn't become a thing, his test record is perfectly adequate (albeit short) to be a guy. https://www.espncricinfo.com/newzealand/content/player/38403.html
