Over or under on Jordan playing 12 Tests in his career?

    Ian Bell'S 100th vs Graham Thorpe's 100

Thorpe's career pretty much coincided with my interest and involvement in cricket so Id probably feel more comfortable judging him than Bell. I never quite got the love for Thorpe. He was a decent/good player. Little more than that though that isn't anything to be embarrassed or ashamed about...

    Larwood 'medium paced'

Absolutely, it is good to have ideas and established truths challenged. It makes us take a second look and review. I have taken a second look and reviewed and Larwood was quick :)

    Football or Cricket

Grew up football mad and it was always my number 1 sport. I played at a decent level. Spent a number of years earning a crust coaching it but there is something about the game that is off and out of balance and it just doesn't work for me anymore. I actually find it pretty unwatchable now. So...

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

Well +1 for Route 1 traditionalists.

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

It is one of those strange things. He cant read the game and therefore is a defensive liability and his final product is poor but he is really good technically. I imagine he looks great in training.

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

It is a bit picky to single Baines out for criticism given how bad the majority have been. Been one of England's best (I use it loosely) 3 or so players this game.

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

Well who would have thought the 2nd half would start far worse than the 1st?

Group D: Uruguay, Costa Rica, England, Italy

I dont watch as much football as I used to, which is strange as it used to be my job, and I missed the Italy game but this is awful. I am a Liverpool fan and I see them far more often than others and I still dont see what Sturridge brings. A near non-footballer who picks space poorly, passes...

    Cricket Books

I just read a recent review and Archie signed off with "Recommended by the Mac." :-O Now I don't read too many of the reviews so is this common or a sign that the end of days is upon us?

The Guardian's Pick Your World Cup Dream Team

If having these players available isnt a time to experiment then I dont know when is. Going for the controversial dual sweeper system :) You can keep Pele and Maradona. Chuck 'em the ball and let them play. ________________________ Banks __________________________ _______________ Baresi...

    World Cup V Olympics

Not much difference really. The US Olympic deal swings it though and it is just going to get bigger with the new deal. TV Revenue 2010 WC - 2.4 billion USD 2012 Olympics - 2.6 billion USD 2014 WC revenues projected to be below that of 2010. 2012 Olympic broadcast revenue 900 million above...

Adrian Chiles brings you the coverage complaints thread

One comment after an article I read was along the lines of "Yeah, and he cant speak English. Comes over here and takes a job. How many of our former players get to work overseas?" Well as someone who has lived around the World, there are ****ing thousands! Whereever you are in the World you turn...

Sports in which skill levels have increased the most

I think it is one sport where the vast majority of old bouts look really dated - not because of the gimmicks but what is done in the ring. Some may argue that current wrestlers are not technically as good but there is no doubting that the high spots are now on a different level. Also I would...

    Foxtel Turns Off the Tap

While there are always way to watch the cricket, it is often tough for ex-pats to get to see the teams they want. A subscription or PPV service provided by ICC would be great.

Sports in which skill levels have increased the most

Some advances are due to changing technology. Because of these advances there are huge improvements in javelin and pole vault. Others that are changes in attitudes and beleif in what is in possible - darts, gymnastics pro-wrestling,MMA and clearly Sevens.
