    Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

also Paine was selected to keep for a World XI recently, so he's got to be good.

    Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

well... trying to be postive, I'd rather Paine than Wade, for Lyon's sake Bancroft is looking really good and SMarsh deserves to be picked more than most of his other selections

He doesn't even have the batsmen's fear of a part-timer on his side. Was thinking the other day about Mussey being a clearly superior partnership breaking option than Cartwright, for that reason.

    Australian Test Selection Thread 2017 - 2018

Bancroft's recent performances have been really impressive. I'm always excited to see young players with application. Which is exactly why I'd never bat him at 7. Why would you bat a young guy known for long innings, with a strike-rate of 42, at 7?

    Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

It would be so great if we had a batsmen who had the fourth highest shield average (45.34) in the country, who was also an impressive full-time 'keeper. We could just pick him and be done with it. Or we could look elsewhere, because he isn't enough of a dickhead.

    Australian Domestic Season 2017/18

Maddinson over Cowan seems like a PoNI selection, assuming that's still a thing. In the short term in it makes sense to play a potential future test star over a discarded test grinder, but long term it massively devalues hard work and determination. And from a NSW perspective it just makes the...

Umpire's Call Won't Take Away a Review Anymore

This should only be the rule for your last review. It would keep speculative reviews low, but remove the sucky millimetre close umpires call screwing the last review.

Ben Horne‏ @BenHorne8 Nathan Lyon marking out his run-up here in Dharamsala. Not that that's a surprise at all Ben Horne‏ @BenHorne8 SOK now out in the middle as well. Early indications would suggest Australia sticking with their formula of two quicks, two spinners

He's been disappointing, but had some tough conditions in the limited matches played, including one where he was injured. In those matches: Starc - 20.71, 195 BF (7 inns) O'Keefe - 10.00, 379 BF (10inns) Lyon - 5.22, 83 BF (10 inns) Hazlewood - 3.00, 73 BF (7 inns)

I really hope they go ahead with it. This series, and especially the last test, have given me hope that this team's deeply ingrained aggression first, **** the conditions, we can win from anywhere, draws are for pussies approach is shifting. Playing the ninth ranked team in similar conditions...

I really liked Kohli's post match interview and comments. My respect has grown a lot for him since some of his petulant early days. One thing that bothers me though is his and Kumble's lack of credit to SOK for his performance. They gave Australia credit, but pointedly, very little to him. I'm...
