Talk about a game of missed opportunities.

It's your time to shine, Nate.

Abbas and Severin struggling for Wellington this season so far.

Even if there was someone ready to take his place, I wouldn't bank on him being dropped. As it stands, there is absolutely no chance. Easier to be dropped as an AB.

Just how golden is Georgeson's arm?

I was a rabid Wellington fan at that time and i don't recall ever lamenting the fact O'Rourke was missing out on higher honours. The only thing I remember about him is his odd bowling action. Bumrah straight arm like, I think.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Yeah, fair enough. The only thing I'd say is subjectively none showed any particular early promise, with the possible exception of Cleaver. Guys like Nathan Smith - as Steve pointed out - are somewhat of an outlier these days (which I guess is my point). A guy who looks to have the goods, but...

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

I dunno. With 3 formats now, the selection landscape has changed and doing 10 years on the domestic circuit while also showing any sort of promise is no longer a thing. Players are being selected sooner, because more players are being selected. I don't mind a Robinson-type pick, if I'm honest...

*Unofficial* New Zealand Black Caps Thread

Isn't your view of Ravindra lacking the same context, then? He was clearly not bought on the back of T20 form, but on the back of a stellar 50-over world cup. In India, no less. Good luck to JFM, I say.

But for reasonable prices, surely. Could you see Flem fork out $1.6m on Rachin? I very much doubt it. Though I take the general point.

Jamal Todd with 2 super quick T20 hundreds in a day. Good enough for an IPL contract, you'd think...

And he gets an IPL gig. It would have seemed hugely random to me had I not read this thread. It still seems quite random, mind.

Whose test career will end last?

    Henry Nicholls likes this.

So, then, who had 17 day-one wickets on their BG bingo cards?

I think Kane is the least of our mid-term potential issues, really.

    2024–25 NZ domestic season

Watching those Mariu boundaries, he appears to stay very legside of the ball with little foot movement. Heaphy looks better on the (albeit limited) highlights we have from this round. Can't dispute Mariu's numbers, though, and long may they continue. Gonna need them - or someone - at intl level...

*Official* New Zealand vs Sri Lanka- White Ball Tour of SL- November, 2024

Kind of agree with this. I keep waiting for him to play that one innings which makes me think 'yep, this guy's got it'. I thought he needed to make one stick in last year's WC. But he didn't. Hopefully his day will come soon.
