Better ODI batsman: Symonds vs Klusener

    Where’s this pad Thai?
  2. Red

    All time ODI XI

No point. I’ve demonstrated Symonds is the perfect 5th bowler who can bat anywhere from 5-7 and therefore perfectly balance any odi xi

All this argument about “5th bowlers” There’s a guy who was perfect at it

The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

Not sure how adding a much weaker batsman than Hammond in Botham makes it “better” when Miller is already in the team as the fifth bowling option.
  5. Red

    All time ODI XI

I understand that but I just value fielding. Would prefer a bat who is a gun fielder
  6. Red

    All time ODI XI

    Only absolute gun fielders M.Waugh A.Gilchrist R.Ponting V.Richards C.Lloyd A.Symonds P.Collingwood R.Jadeja B.Lee T.Boult J.Garner 12: J.Rhodes

    All time ODI XI

I've rarely seen any of these guys listed in teams that are ATG ODI first XIs. Williamson and Jones dont appear in these teams over Viv, ABD and Kohli. That was my point. What do you mean by "Waugh and O'Donnell ew" ?

    All time ODI XI

    Here’s a team of odi guns that rarely get picked in this exercise: D.Warner M.Waugh D.Jones K.Williamson E.Morgan Q.DeKock S. Al Hasan S.O’Donnell S.Pollock M.Starc A.Donald
  9. Red

    All time ODI XI

    No, Symonds 5th with Watson 6th ??
  10. Red

    All time ODI XI

Can’t see the point in running two keepers when you could pick an equivalent-ish bat who’s a gun fielder. My team would slaughter you on fielding alone.

Batting orders can be changed with match situations.

Would Ponting make an Aussie all-time XI?

Depends. Barnes Lawry Bradman Chappell Ponting/Miller/Border/Harvey/Smith Another one of the above ^ Gilchrist Davidson/Lindwall/OReilly Warne Lillee McGrath Sort of depends if you want to go with a genuine all rounder in the top six and two spinners or just six bats.

    All time Asian-XI

Gilchrist Sehwag Richards Abbas Buttler Maxwell Symonds Klusener Kapil Garner Murali would make 400 every innings. 5 legit bowlers plus Maxwell and Richards

Glenn Maxwell cricketing career in doubt after injury

I’d say he’d get pretty good medical treatment without our hoping. If I was him I’d pull the pin on the int. career and just go T20 mercenary chasing all the cash. Best mate Finchy is gone and who cbf when he’s achieved all he needs to.
