    *Official* CW English Meet-Up

Well, I'm going to Uni in Worcester so meet-ups in Birmingham would be fine.

    What's sports do you play?

So you're playing International Rugby for wherever you're from then... Play Rugby and Cricket myself. Haven't played Rugby in nearly 9 months (mostly due to laziness and the fact that school rugby is ****) but I'm hoping to take it back up at Uni level. Don't think I'll get very far though...

    Run up

My run up is 12/15 strides and I thought that was long. Was 19 too at one point but it ****ed up my knee for some reason.

    Players wanted

Think I did that at one point. Maybe it was the American League cricket, though TBF I'd be fairly interested in playing over there at some point.

    Non Test Playing Nations!!!

I'm guessing it's pretty similar in standards to most of the Irish and Scottish cricket. Would like to try a season or two in the Netherlands in the future.

    The Green Thread

Hope I can get a good few games under my belt this season in all forms of the game. Haven't really played outstandingly in my 2 seasons at the Green AFAIK.

    Players wanted

If you fancy playing for free, come to Northern Ireland and play for Donaghadee Cricket Club, next season.

Getting Out LBW playing around front pad

Taking a leg stump Guard will probably make it worse. You'll be more likely to be infront of the stumps. Take a Guard on middle or bring back your trigger movement and work on that. What was your movement before you got rid of it?

Whats do people think is the maximum age to join a cricket team

Started playing when I was 16. Have had no Coaching and am playing regularly for my Club firsts now. Tried it the year before, i.e. when I was 15, and I was pretty ****. Honestly don't know how I became good and interested in such a short period of time.

    Preparing a cricket bat!

Whatever you do, don't put Glue or Varnish on it. That'll completely destroy the subtlety of the wood and drastically decrease the life of the bat. You do know how to 'knock a bat in', don't you? I.e with a Hammer or a Cricket Ball in a sock?
