    The greatest spinner of alltime

I think Lillee took Gibbs world record and Benaud's Aussie record not that I am being picky:p Tiger's record in the SS is just amazing when you consider the flat pitches and the huge scores. He was another who lost years to the war. Warne's poor record in the SS always worries me although he...

Which Was the Worst Possible Umpiring Decision That You Have Seen

What do you think would have happened if Benaud had bowled him from the other end?

    Greatest Aussie fast bowler

    Would be interesting:cool:

    Garry Sobers v Imran Khan,Test Cricket:Poll

Keith Miller is a hard one because after his war experiences he sometimes would not give 100%. Always thought his batting at Test level should have been better. Although Imran also showed he could score runs when he did not have to bowl

Which Was the Most Exiting Hour of Test Cricket For You?

The 4th Test MCG last day. Great day until Millar:@ Or was that Miller:unsure:

    Garry Sobers v Imran Khan,Test Cricket:Poll

 is this back. Could not be bothered in going through all of this thread but I am pretty sure I was on Sobers side. Three in one bowler great batsman and great fielder. Not a great captain from what I read but still an easy winner here:happy: Still think Imran a great player:cool:

Which Was the Worst Possible Umpiring Decision That You Have Seen

Thanks mate:cool: The Cairns one is even worse than I remember but the Ponting one is not that bad although still wrong:-O

    Greatest Aussie fast bowler

Personally I think O'Reilly the best ATA spinner but that would be a different thread

Which Was the Worst Possible Umpiring Decision That You Have Seen

Lance Cairns being called for intimidatory bowling after a slow medium bouncer which dismissed Jim Higgs. The decision allowed Doug Walters to score a ton and for Australia to win the match. LBW given against Ponting on debut which robbed him of a 100 in his first game

    ***Official*** Australia in Sri Lanka

Luck Aust won the toss with the SL spinners seemingly being a class above the Aussie spinners. Perhaps with SL batting last Aussies may be a fair chance:unsure:

    Any facts about wet wickets?

The point is he starts these threads, which could be interesting and then hijacks them into a Bradman bashing thread until they are closed. The interesting debate is lost and instead we hear about SRT. No one on this site thinks SRT is anything but a great batsman, still it is hard to argue...

    Any facts about wet wickets?

I have no idea about percentages of wet wickets and such. The way they did things varied over the years. At one time there were no covers they did not call off play unless it was raining regardless of the wicket. Later once play started they would leave the wickets uncovered for the entire...

The wet wicket performance eye opener

Not really sure what you are arguing tbh:unsure: Bradman averaged 100 and is the greatest batsman in history not someone who needed nine more to score 100 you seem to be taking my post very literally:dry: Sutcliffe when on a private tour to SC in the 1930s but it seems the standard was not all...

The wet wicket performance eye opener

Good discussion, interesting stuff about Bradman. It was often stated he was such a rational batsman he could not see the point of trying on wet wickets but once or twice he did play a good innings on a sticky wicket:happy: I think the question is whether Bradman could have scored runs on a...

    Glenn Mcgrath or Malcolm Marshall?

Should remember Lillee missed some years through a back injury and WSC when at his peak. Personally I would take Lillee over everyone when it comes to fast bowlers I have watched and have some support from a number of experts including Marshall and Paddles:)

    Glenn Mcgrath or Malcolm Marshall?

Marshall was entertaining and a good bowler. McGrath was a good bowler but boring so the former for me:)
