    Tbh I had tipped Murali to steamroll the Windies in R7. SL have been rather unlucky & most likely would do a lot better if this tourney was replayed.

    TV viewership might have had a role in this too. A D/N Test in India is perfect timing for the English audience.

    Not hard to see why. Tumbling wickets = Constant action. Perfect for casuals/T20 lovers.

    Tbf five-day cricket isn't really a great advert for the game either. Most people from non-cricketing nations can't wrap their heads around why it takes that long.

    Wouldn't have thought the redevelopment would have affected the pitch though? Unless they dug up the square when they demolished the old stands?

    Soon enough all ads & hoardings around the ground will be computer-generated, so hopefully that will fix the problem.

    Future of Pink Ball Cricket?

    From personal experience I have found the pink ball tends to 'blur' when moving quickly, & during dusk periods this problem gets magnified. Could be just me though, but I haven't found this to be the case with white balls.

    Reminds me of similar problems with Marvel Stadium due to the lights being positioned within the ground rather than external towers.

    Yeah, there are recorded instances of him keeping up to the stumps to Ryder, Kelleway, McCabe & McCormick along with the litany of Aussie spin bowlers from the time such as Grimmett, O'Reilly, Fleetwood-Smith, Ward, Mailey & Ironmonger.

    Fingers crossed it won't be paywalled as the impetus behind it is to get more eyes from developing countries on the sport. Hopefully it will feature on the ICC's YouTube channel. From what I've read European emerging nations are set to be the big winner here.
