    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Wellington are the Plunket Shield champions, btw.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Accross the 3 formats. Foulkes was probably the standout for me. Although Smith got domestic player of the season, would have to look up a comparison. Those 2 , plus O'Rourke (before missing the second half), were the standouts.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I think this season confirms (for me) that Finn Allen is a bit of a coaster. Could probably be twice the player with a better base to build on. Obviously has very limited ambitions (even as a T20 specialist)...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Without knowing how the bonus points work, I'm going to assume they were pretty even on the first innings. So Wellington can probably win the Shield with a draw. I'd say an outright result is more likely, though.

Looks like Dale Phillips has been replaced mid-match by Jake Gibson. But he will remain ahead of Severin in the runs-scoring chart as he was dismissed for 1 in his second innings.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I think the Phillips innings today (144) must put Dale Phillips in lead by about 30 over Severin.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Effectively a Shield Final between ND and Wellington. Looks like it will all be decided on a bunsen.

Iirc. He had that great tour of India, then missed all/most of the domestic season. Edit. That happened to Fisher. Maybe I'm mixing them.

For top run-scorer. Literally couldn't be tighter between the current top 2. With exact same runs and average.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Heading in to the final round of the season. Tight race to be the season's top wicket taker. Between Smith, Duffy and Kuggeleijn. Duffy has been top wicket taker on 3 previous occasions. If he were to do it again. He would equal Stephen Boock doing this 4 times. With only Bob Blair (of the...

It has been a good Autumn block for the spinners this season.

With a bit of competition, it makes me wonder how Santner is going this round. Oh. Must be too tired from all that 12th manning?

Wow. What a comeback for Macewell.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

TBH. It's also a level that has had ex-FC players in it. Just they're reaaaallly old. A league of extremes.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I remember him looking quite impressive on his debut a few years ago, always been surprised he's not played again.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

I've played against an old(ish) man Saverin in Wellington club cricket, wouldn't be surprised if it's his old man - and hence he probably moved young. Don't know, though. Then again. It was maybe too low a level to be spawning FC level offspring...

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

Brent Arnel playing for Counties today in Hawke Cup elinatorv BOP. Rolling back the years. He's 45. At the other end of the spectrum, his first wicket was of 16 year old who scored quite big runs at the national U19s (but didn't make the world cup team).

Will Young opening for CD today. This is the first time he has opened for them. First time he has ever opened at FC level lower than test cricket or 'A' cricket.

    NZ domestic season 2023/24

The gang of 32 years olds ride again. Bump the most promising looking young opener in nz down to 3 and open with two 32 year olds. I actually don't mind Nicholls trying to stretch himself and open , see if he can get back in test team. But .... that means Bowes should be moved. Look...

Oh. Is the season over? Or, are about 2 or 3, 4 or 5 people ? unavailable if the awards were at the end of the actual season. E.g. at the IPL
