Yeah he's got an amazing amount of runs - amazing amount - but something tells me he might never crack it consistently. I can't see him mastering any of the English, South African or Pakistani attacks but can see him filling his boots against the others. Just feel like his optimum level is just...

Don't think fail is the right way to put it. Maybe be overtaken is. Just don't see him scoring consistently at Test level, just a hunch more than anything. Reckon Warner is technically the best of the young bats coming through at the moment, if he can get his head right he could be anything.

Mate at the moment no-one in FC in Australia bats long bar Wes Robinson, who doesn't make any runs. Watson will open for the remainder of his career if he wants to.

Reckon in 3 years time we are looking at Warner Watson Khawaja Clarke Marsh Ferguson as our top 6. Will be interesting to see how close is it to that.

Don't mind it to be honest - reckon that there are question marks over Khawaja at the moment and he needs to settle in one spot for a few matches to get a proper gauge on if he is up to it full-time yet. Marsh for Ponting a direct swap, and you'd imagine potentially a direct swap back. Allows...

Shock horrow we agree again. Reckon the only sanction-worthy pitches are the ones where bounce is consistently variable to the extent it become dangerous for a batsman. Excessive sideways movement isn't as issue for mine, inconsistent up and down movement is though. On day 1 I thought that...

Surprisingly tweaky for a part timer spinner

Aravinda de Silva gave the ball a massive tweak for a part-timer - turned them square. Graeme Hick was also useful.

    Surprisingly Quick For A Part-Timer

Mark Waugh's meds used to be reasonably quick, reckon he was as sharp or slightly sharper than Blewett. Craig McMillan was reasonable for a part-timer too, bowled a heavy bouncer in particular.

If there is one certainty in Pakistani cricket it is that people are always in the frame for selection!

Great tantrum from Heals. Could blow up when he felt the need.

Handy 10 and 11 for Australia, must be said

Yep great point. Has always played fantastic cricket shots as opposed to slogs. He hits the ball so cleanly its easy to pidgeon hole him as a slogger but he also has a very well organised defensive technique and a good range of shots. Concentration not been a strength though per se, but he may...

To be honest, reckon Warner is a better long-term bet than Phil Hughes at Test level. Technically very sound, his biggest handicap is what is in his own head. Hughes, meanwhile, will always struggle for consistency unless he's in great form. Warner as a Test bat isn't as silly as it sounds. I...

At the risk of an infraction... Credit where credit is due to Greg Chappell. I know he's been pushing for Lyon massively since that 'A' tour before this series. Dare say if he wasn't the selector on duty Lyon may not have played. Hoping he's backed a good one here long term. Enjoyed the fact...

Well done Trent Copeland - very happy for the bloke, has worked extremely hard for every opportunity he's got and made every post a winner. In the words of crash Craddock 'thus is a great little story'.

Reckon there is only a handful at best at the moment that you could consider world-class - Swann the obvious one, Vettori, Shakib-ul-Hasan. Potentially at a stretch you could add Saeed Ajmal, Abdur Rehman, Ray Price and Rangana Herath. Harbhajan is losing the plot so to speak. Pretty slim...

Disagree to be honest. Reckon Watson is always one of our more steady and consistent bowlers, just doesn't penetrate an awful lot.

    Domestic Giants

Could pick any number of Australian batsman from the 1990's-early 00's, but always though that in particular 4 guys were really hard done by not to play any Test cricket/only have real limited opportunities. Jamie Cox, Dene Hills, Stuart Law, Martin Love.

Alfonso Thomas - Why hasn't he been given a chance for South Africa?

    He's a Kolpak so he can't I dont think.
