    Really chuffed for Temba. I've criticised him a lot in the past and I still think he got more Tests than many others would have got, given his record, but in the past two/three years he has been our best bat and he deserves his spot now. And he's finally repaying the faith.

    I'm not saying that CSA plays no role in this disaster, CSA has been a slow motion car crash since Majola's tenure basically, but util the ICC ad Big Three comes to the party they'll be fighting a uphill battle.

    It's a question of money though, Tests are expensive and if the broadcast and gate receipts etc won't cover the costs you have a problem.

    Not sure you can lay the blame solely at the door of CSA. Apart from the Big Three everyone is playing only between 12 and 14 Tests in the next round of the WTC, this is as much as a problem created by the ICC and the Big Three and their greed and structural problems with the international game.

    I don't think where he's batting and the likelihood of getting a not out is the issue, Kallis averaged over 60 at No 4 overall. I think the issue is that Temba is more of a No 6 than a No 4, as you say.

    I agree but he needs to start making some hundreds. One century in nearly 100 innings from a Top Six bat is simply not good enough.

    I agree. But he has to start repaying the faith now. I have no problem with him in the team at the moment and like him as skip, but very few specialist bats would have been given 50 Tests with his average and number of tons.

    Joburg is one of the few cities where Test cricket has been played on three grounds. Along with Old and New Wanderers some games were played at Ellis Park.
